ttun basketball (Juwan out, Dusty May in)

3 straight losses to end the regular season, then a run to the B1G tourney title. Could that tourney run have masked UM struggling down the stretch? It seems like every year there's a team that wins their conference tournament and gets bounced early in the NCAA tourney. These guys could be overconfident and unfocused coming into the NCAAs. I'm not saying they'll be upset, but I am saying there's a correlation to teams riding high and being upset in the big dance.

Why not pick UC San Diego? They're 30-4. UM is going to come into the game with a short turnaround, riding high off the B1G tournament win, having to travel far outside the midwest, and I'm sure they won't have as much focus and intensity for this game as UC San Diego.

Because the world is cruel and unjust.

Michigan freshman guard Justin Pippen, the son of NBA Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame player Scottie Pippen, will enter the transfer portal after just one season with the Wolverines, 247Sports reported on Monday. The Wolverines just punched their ticket to the Sweet 16 with a 91-79 win over Texas A&M in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Pippen last appeared in Michigan's regular-season finale against Michigan State earlier this month, when he scored two points and had an assist in a 79-62 loss to the Spartans. Pippen played sparingly on the year and averaged 1.6 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 12 appearances. His best game came in a win against Purdue Fort Wayne in December, when he scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds.
