ttun basketball (Juwan out, Dusty May in)

Fair. This was in response to my question, "How is this different from what Woody did?" And all of your points are correct. Except Bauman taunted the Ohio State sideline - absolutely no excuse for hitting him. I don't know why I even brought it up. Never mind that point.

But I think you suspend a player for doing that. You fire a coach for doing that. They need to be held to a higher standard than players.
Oh 100% he should be fired. But they were working behind the scenes on easing the reaction to the fact that he would barely be suspended. The story "broke" last night that the commish of the B1G could only suspend him 2 games based on blah blah blah. They're already working the story so it's not as bad when he's back coaching March 1st.

DFBIA boards are full of "I'm not defending him, but..." Followed by a paragraph of making excuses and/or deflecting blame.

I don't think he'll get fired (he should) and I'd be willing to bet his suspension is going to be short. TSUN will wait out this initial flurry of bad press and suspend him for like 3 games because they're cunts.
He'll be back just in time to coach in the Big 10 Tournament, most likely the last tournament they will play in this year.

He walks past him, not looking, with a promise to remember that

Get's physically stopped, and then angrily shouts don't touch me non stop.

Both sides defused it, then Krabby came in hot and took it up a notch, and the never stable situation boiled over.

Making a tough fist after an open hand slap was an interesting look

What's stunning about the whole thing, is usually the immature kids are at a boiling point, and then one little match sets it off, and it is out of control.

Williams talked the tiniest bit, but overall they were the stable ones.
Even after Howard slapped someone, it still didn't boil over, until someone tackled Williams.

Could be interesting if they meet in the B1G tournament.

If his whiny, hot-headed attitude weren't likely to get an opposing player hurt by becoming the program culture, I'd say I'm perfectly fine with them retaining him for as long as they want, because the techs/ejections and other antics would likely make for grade A entertainment. Unfortunately I'm sure that attitude becoming the attitude of the players over the long term would result in some nasty, injury-causing intentional fouls and brawls.
See Bill Musselman, Minnesota, 1/25/72
Never forget.

How big of a dick do you have to be to think you’re entitled to physically impede someone because they don’t want to shake your hand?

Again, not defending Juwan at all, but it’s baffling that people acting like Gard touching him didn’t start the whole thing.
No, Juwan thinking it’s ok for him to have his guys pressing against backups with the shot clock off in the last 30 seconds of a blowout, but thinking he has the right to be pissed off about the opposing coach calling a timeout to prevent a turnover is what started the incident.

It’s true that Gard grabbing Howard’s forearm to stop him to explain what he did and maybe shake his hand was the initial physical contact in the incident.

Also, notice how Howard grabs Gard’s lapels for a second right after that, it wasn’t evident in the initial videos, but that was also a factor is escalating the reaction of the other Wisconsin coaches and players.

I mean.....
- Woody was an old man who hit a kid
- The kid literally didn't do a single thing wrong
- It was completely out of nowhere
I’m waiting for ESPN or some other entity to compile a list of every college head coach who ever hit an opposing player or coach, and what the resultant punishment was in each case.
