ttun basketball (Juwan out, Dusty May in)

Smart NBA GMs think like this:

I have a choice between:

A. - a polished player who is NBA ready and will be a top 150 player almost immediately, but will never crack the top 50.

B. - a player who is three years from seriously contributing, but when he does has a ceiling in the top 30.

The GM who picks A will be likely make the playoffs with some consistency, and maybe get by the first round now and then.

The GM who picks B will compete for the championship in about 4 or 5 years.

The point is, if a guy is coming out you can't wait to go after him next year because he will be gone.

Not saying McGary will be top 30, only that nobody gives a damn what his free throw percentage is as a college Frosh.

And for comparison, Daryl Dawkins played 165 minutes and shot 33% from the line as a rookie. The GM who drafted him was not fired.

I'll just wait and see what happens after the next game. Hell, if they win it all, I won't complain if the whole team goes pro.........

And I wont complain if a bus carrying the team collides with a bus carrying the Atlanta school administration and they all go up in flames.

my point is his game still needs improvement. have there been any projections on where he would even go in the draft?
there isn't a scout in the world that would draft him lower because he can't hit free throws.

Now if he wants to come back, be the face of the franchise and develop more polish in his offensive game, that's another story.

Fine, substitute Bismack Biyombo if you need a player of equal significance to McGary to understand the point. Sheesh.
We have to tell Mike when his own team is on TV at some points throughout the season. I seriously doubt he's familiar with Bismack Biyombo.

No matter how much we Buckeye fans dislike it, Michigan fans have a right to crow right now. National title game, AP player of the Year who is from their hated rival's hometown.

They just can't crow here...

Louisville is probably the best defensive TEAM UM has seen this year. They don't have a ball hawk like Craft, but their intense man to man is going to be problematic for guys like Stauskas and GRiii who can't really create space and get their own shot off. Of the tourny run, this will be the biggest challenge.

Yeah but this might be the last hurrah. The stars have aligned in terms of personnel this year for them.....if they don't get it done this year, will their recruits be able to keep on in the same manner?
