next weeks MSU/Notre Dame game is very intriguing. Can't wait to see who wins that one.

Given how ineffective ND's offense seems to be, I'd say this is pretty much a toss-up, just like the UM-ND game this weekend. UM has had pretty good luck with ND the past two years--two nail-biters that they've managed to win. They could very easily be 0-2 against ND in the past two years.

Per Twitter:

@BFeldmanESPN Denard Robinson amassed 94% of his team's O on Sat. Vince Young's highest gm was % was 84%, same as Tebow's. Pat White's was never near 80%. about an hour ago

@BFeldmanESPN Mizzou's Brad Smith had the closest one-man show to D. Robinson I checked when he had 480 of tm's 502 vs. Neb in '05, which was under 92%. 21 minutes ago

On last Friday's show, Scott Torgerson (FM 97.1) said he was rooting for a meteor to hit the stadium. Considering the fact that I never heard anyone say anything of the kind before Jax got that meme started here, I think he tipped his hand. He at least lurks on BP.

FWIW Torg, I like your show, especially your take on Danny Hope. But the next time you use something from BP, give us a little shout, alright?

Is anyone else kind of surprised that an 87 yard TD RUN is the longest ever in Ntre Ame stadium history?

It's not that surprising. The longest at the 'Shoe are an 89-yard (non-TD) by Gene Fekete against Pitt in 1942, and an 88-yard TD by Morris Bradshaw against Wiscy in 1971. A Purdue passing TD in 1994 is the only 90-yard play from scrimmage ever in the 'Shoe. Crist's 95-yarder to Rudolph was the Domers' second-longest passing play.

I'm wondering about the TD where the Domer dropped the ball on the 1-yard line. It was different from the Marshall guy last Thursday, since that football bounced quickly through the end zone. The Domer dropped the ball on the 1, but it stopped in the middle of the end zone. It stayed there for several seconds after the referee had signaled TD, and then another ref walked over and picked it up (it should have still been a live ball). How could replay take away the TD when they don't know who would have recoved the live ball in the end zone?

One more thing - it seems like TSUN is using more cut blocks this year, similar to Navy's option game blocking, where they try to time them just before the potential ball carrier gets to their man.

don't know. It's just a shame that it happened in back to back days and nobody even noticed. I mean look at the frigging side judge in the picture. He's staring right at the player. Only at notre dame I guess.

What conference were the refs from? I hope they weren't from the BigTen. That is piss-poor officiating (disclaimer:have not watched the game yet, have it on DVR, just going off of what I see here and other boards).

The officiating in the UMiami/Ohio State game was crappy, also, on both sides. I hope this isn't a trend going forward.

ND-TSUN refs were from the Big Ten (tOSU-Miami were ACC).

It's normal to have the visiting team's conference supply the refs, and the home team's conference supply the replay officials.

Link

Officials: Referee: Todd Geerlings; Umpire: Rick Nelson; Head Linesman: John Quinn; Line Judge: Jack Tietz; Side Judge: Todd Ransom; Field Judge: Ed Rohan; Back Judge: Rob Luklan (all Big Ten). Replay: Jack Cramer and Steve McBride (both Big East).
