I can understand how UM fans look at that game as a mini accomplishment for their D. They have not had much to be proud of on that side of the ball for a few years now. Any thing that can be perceived as good the D does they will take as a big deal (even if the rest of us can shoot many holes through it).
Those of us who can watch that game without the bias of being a fan of that team (just threw up in my mouth a little there, ugh!) can actually see through the BS and objectively say that the D did absolutely nothing special because the Purdue O made so many mistakes that an average HS D could have had the same performance against them. Running into each other in the back field, a QB with a bum hand trying to throw in the rain, the horrible playcalling, etc.
This UM team has the top two teams in the Big Ten up next on their schedule, and if their D plays the way it did on Saturday there will be many broken remotes and tvs throughout the mitten state.
Let them revel in their win right now, no matter how bad they actually played. They really don't have much else to hang their hats on.
