Jordan Hicks was an Ohio kid in title only...there's an asterisk by his name.Honor&Glory;1740203; said:I wish the kid the best but, to me, this can't happen in back to back years and it just did and I'm not very happy about it.

...is that how coaches recruit against Ohio State? absolutely.
two years in a row the top LB prospect in this state has been whisked away. Future recruits will take notice of that trend. How could they not?? Look if a top in-state prospect goes up north or to Penn State...fine...they keep their midwestern roots and stay in Big 10 country. When the SEC and Texas slap you in the face and take your candy away from you, well...how are you going to react?
I'm tired of 4 and 5 star kids in Ohio leaving because of the rhetoric of other coaches...but when you're 0-9 versus 'God's conference' and you've produced, what? 2 Butkus award winners ever...its like shooting fish in a barrel and I'm sick of it...honestly, why does a kid from Ohio worship a program that, until last season, was largely irrelevant in his 17 years?

Trey DePriest picked Alabama. Not that anyone is surprised about that. Here are the facts. He is a 4-3 linebacker. The 4-3 defense is a defensive line defense. 4-3 linebackers have to be really special to be fussed over. That means Andy Katzenmoyer. It means Jordan Hicks. It means Etienne Sabino. It does not mean Trey DePriest.
Next.

DePriest grew up a Michigan fan in the heart of Buckeye country. When Michigan started sucking, he began looking around for a new favorite team and became an Alabama fan about a minute after they won the NC. Some kids, no matter where they are from or how they are recruited, are just anti-OSU, and there's nothing you can do about it. DePriest was one of those kids. Time to move on....Psalty;1740226; said:Dude, keep things in perspective. Hicks didn't grow up in Ohio and was a Texas fan and DePriest was a scUM fan. What do you expect? Going 0-2 in a situation like that seems perfectly reasonable. The sky is not falling. Besides, this will just make beating 'Bama this year in the NCG all the more special.
