Maybe our depth at linebacker is the reason these kids are going elsewhere. If Trey does pick Bama, it might be a reflection on how strong we are at that position.

From what I've read from recruiting analysts, OSU likes LBs to control the line laterally, whereas Alabama likes to attack the line between the tackles with MLBs. Trey isn't the speediest guy, so Alabama's approach may be more suited for his style of play.

Scout $ - Trey DePriest departs Tuscaloosa

7/26

By Bone...Coach Cupps says there is not timetable for a decision and says he is not involved in the decision and has merely acted as a travel agent for Trey and his family...the last he heard from Trey was that he wanted to wait until after the season.

What is interesting is usually in-state kids leaving don't announce early (see: Hicks, Jordan or Davis, Fred)...but in this case, Trey waiting only improves OSU's chances, however slim they may be...

"The only thing we really talked to him about was if you took football out of the equation, where would you go to school?" Cupps said. "You'd better be happy on campus."

Hmmmm...makes me think OSU has a fighting chance. But like HotMic, I think he is 'Bama bound...
