Travel advice for OSU-Penn State game

Taking my son to the game. We will be coming up 71 from the SW side of the city. Looking for advice for good value hotel to stay someplace outside of CBus......hoping to save some dough by staying outside of town. Or, if we just decide to buck up and pay for a good location in CBus, where to stay? We will be leaving after the game so just looking for something Friday night.

Your best bet is probably near Grove City. I can't give you much insight into which hotels are decent though.

Might check Dublin if you’re looking for low cost and quiet surroundings. It’s about a 20min jaunt, Crowne Plaza out there on the cheaper side.

Agreed on Grive City. The Hampton Inn and Drury Inn are the nicer ones. The ones west of 71 are older and a bit more run down, but will be cheaper.

Easy on/off at Stringtown and you can go up either 71 or 315 to get to campus. Maybe 15-20 minutes either way.

Just to park. I’ll be coming from SW Missouri. I’ll just crash some other folks tailgate. Hahaha.

Depending on the time you get there, your best bet is probably north of the shoe in a grass lot by the schott. I haven't been on campus this year so I have no clue about construction/traffic.

So, I am looking on Google satellite and all I see is pavement. Where is the grass parking lot?

The paved lots off of Ackerman and Fred Taylor Drive (next to the RV lots) are a decent option. $20 parking with easy access to plenty of crashable tailgates in the RV lots.

It’s a bit of a walk to the stadium but easy enough.

Anywhere a guy is standing with a sign that reads, "Parking $20"

Lots of space on Kenny Rd too. Metro Early was only $5 when I parked there for the Army game.
