Transformers Movie Teaser Trailer

Don't know how much weight people put into Ebert, but he actually rated the film highly (3 star, would've been 4 if not for the over-long, gratuitous finale/battle/CGI orgy of ILM effects):

... I think Michael Bay sometimes sucks ("Pearl Harbor," "Armageddon," "Bad Boys II") but I find it possible to love him for a movie like "Transformers." It's goofy fun with a lot of stuff that blows up real good, and it has the grace not only to realize how preposterous it is, but to make that into an asset. ...

Awesome movie. If you're some latte-sipping English Lit prof who thinks that Woody Allen is a "genius", and who won't go see anything that didn't get a rave reception at Sundance or Cannes, then you'll hate it.

And that makes me happy.

A kick ass movie. Some great action sequences and some good sprinkles of humor. Heck, I dragged my wife kicking and screaming and even she liked the movie.

Exact same experience I had. My wife refused to see the movie on the 3rd, but she reluctantly agreed yesterday. She ended up liking the movie and she hated transformers in her youth.

I was a transformers freak when I was a kid.

I won't say best movie ever... not even close, but it was the best movie I've seen this year. Well Knocked Up was pretty damn good too.

Saw it on Tuesday,

Average to Mediocre movie. Typical Michael Bay gargbage, constant one liners to fill in until the action sequences, lots of characters that are introduced and then ignored, what the hell was the point in throwing in the Autobots waiting outside Sam's house and hiding from his parents while he's looking for the glasses? That scene went on FOREVER and was so lame (never thought I would hear Optimus Prime say "My Bad"). The Decepticons were in the movie for about 5 minutes and Megatron about 3 minutes.

I give it a solid C-

Also saw a preview for "Who's your caddy" Hands down the worst pandering to racism in a movie preview I've ever seen. The whole basis of the movie is a rapper joining an all white country club, hilarity enuses. Fuckin GARBAGE.

My wife and I had a couple hours to kill yesterday, so we went and saw Transformers. I think I would have preferred spending time with my in-laws, b/c that was easily one of the top 5 worst movies I've sat through in the last few years. It actually made Spiderman 3 look like a decent flick. Michael bay has cemented himself as one of (if not the most) laughable directors in history with this steaming pile of dog crap. The last time I laughed that hard at a movie that wasn't an intentional comedy it was directed by George Lucas. This movie was clearly targetted at the dumbest crowd possible (big surprise). You know what I'm talking about (people who think wrestling is real, think Larry the cable guy is funny, Olive Garden and Outback Steakhouse are good restaurants, and American Idol is good entertainment)...morons.

We saw it yesterday and I thought it was actually better than I expected.
Great summer action flick. Great special effects and action.
Wife was less impressed, but what do wives know about action flicks?
I think this is the movie of the summer season! :banger:

I thought it was a good movie but it did have too many cheesy one-liners and do-gooder themes. I think it was a good family flick....if you want to see something on the scale of the godfather.....skip this flick. If you want to bring the kids to the movie without worrying about the f word or vulgarity- this is the movie to see. The female co-star is a hottie too. The action scenes were pretty sweet as well.

Why these 'clown humor' movies get funded is beyond me.
