Tough break...thought I'd share

Scooter gets 2400mg of Ibuprofren with every meal.

Babe,
I don't want to search out what you just said, but I'm guessing the 5 advil I took before every practice and game during my college career wasn't good for me
I will put my fake Tibor hat on here, but Jesus Christ Scooter, 2400mg? Thats 12 pills at a time. Even 1000mg is a large dose. At 2400 I'm amazed you even have a stomach, or liver. That must be some serious pain. I would think they would give you something a little stronger than Ibuprofen that tell you to take that much. Try a vicodin or some paint chips.

2400 was my dosage for about 8 months. All of my surgeries were a success and I'm out of the service now. When it bothers me now, I suck down a couple Tylenol and away we go. I can even walk 18 holes if I knock off two Aleve.

I'm as shocked as you guys are that I'm not on a feeding tube after taking 3 800mg Motrins with every meal.

I took 3 before every game, and 3 at half time.
For some reason it never did help.

Scooters secret is that he took them with meals, so that probably helped his stomach.

I have mentioned that I work out with my Orthopedic Surgeon and he tells me all the time to take Aleve for pain and swelling, as long as I take it with meals. I take quite a bit myself and do not have any stomach troubles.

Exhawg and zip, as I expect you know the pain gets worse and the joints swell more as you age.

The price for glory, or at least a free education.

yet. As long as it occasional use I would guess it isn't going to cause a lot of damage.

Though a pharmacist passed this information on to me earlier in the year when I was told by my M.D. (as well as my Orthopedic Surgeon) to take ibuprofen every 4-6 hours with food for knee pain & inflammation.

Taking the anti-inflammatory with food or milk with help alleviate any immediate stomach discomfort but long term it will not matter.

He also told me that more people die from liver/stomach illnesses brought on by aspirin/ibuprofen that AIDS does in one year.
Frightening.
