Next one is less than 7 years away and Akron and Cleveland are in the "totality" path. I will be renting out space in my backyard for your viewing pleasure! But bring your own glasses...or welding helmets.

This makes me so interested in just what the hell ancient humans must have thought when this happened.
I found myself wondering just how many thousands--hundreds of thousands--of primitive humans lost their eyesight observing the "monster eating the sun" before they figured out a "monster wasn't eating the sun" but a monster would eat your eyes if you stared at the sun. Tracking eclipses was a hell of an accomplishment for primitive peoples.
