We, and I'm including myself here, are a spoiled lot. I don't think we were ever as good as 23-9 in any of my years at Ohio State. We won the NIT with a 20-14 record and we thought that was fun. :lol:

The best football team during my student days went 9-3. But the 21st century Buckeyes have raised the bar and we're accustomed to seeing better.

But he (Loving) does it every game (sulk, attitude, intensity, etc.). I just wish this team had a few more players with energy and hustle.

He's one player that really needs a one-on-one meeting with Coach Matta before next season, because I'd rather have a younger player who hustles with a better attitude (at this point).

Honestly, it looks like this team wants this season to be over. Russell looks like he's sick of carrying this senior class and I can't blame him. Even Tate doesn't look like his usual fiery self. The team just doesn't seem like it's playing with a ton of confidence nor does it look like they enjoy playing with each other. Sad to see Russell's last few games go down this way.

I said a few weeks ago that it's a shame a talent like Russell is wasted on such a "meh" team.

Nah. It's an incredibly frustrating team. I remember kind of having the same feeling as the 2011 football season limped to the finish line. And much like with that team, I think brighter days are ahead.

I don't want this to be a post mortem on the season before it's over, but the last time Matta's teams had back-to-back disappointing seasons, it was followed by a nice few year run. Hopefully some of these youngsters and some of the incoming kids can lead the same.

There doesn't seem to be any player leadership that's for certain (not talking about coaches).

Sometimes freshmen don't walk in right away and lead (like Craft), but in this season, I could see Russell and Tate being the real leaders.

I just wish there was energy and a better attitude. I seriously think you could punch a couple of these players in the face and they wouldn't react.
