Embarrassing performance tonight. Win and you're in and that's what shows up. The safeties were beaten on nearly every pass play beyond 12 yards. I'm kind of glad we didn't get FSU, because they'd hammer us by 21 on a good night.

Big question remains: why not run Hyde up the middle on that 4th down? Not sure the defense can hold them even if we scored, so it doesn't really matter.

Why not on third?

This is an honest question (or observation), but does anyone else notice that Evan Spencer doesn't seem to catch the ball well when guarded or a 50/50.

Is there an example of a 50/50 where Spencer caught it this season?

That's that. This one hurts. Maybe every bit as much as that other loss to MSU back in the day. Win the bowl game, and this is still every bit an outstanding season with one major blemish. Great game called by MSU.

Gotta so no on that one. That '98 squad was probably the best OSU team in my lifetime. This year's team getting to the NC game would have been like the Boeckman team that got to the title game kind of by default. Not saying anything about the Boeckman squad or this year squad but the '98 team was special and would have been a favorite to win whereas the other two were/would have been significant underdogs. I would compare this loss to the '95 loss up north. OSU was carried by an elite offense that year but came up short in the end.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that almost every fucking QB this year has the game of their life against us. Also, the secondary has not improved at all this year and noeither has the tackling. It's proabblyu good that we don't go play FSU in the title game...we'd get fucking embarassed again, further cementing the negative image of choking in title games.

We won in spite of our D for two years MSU's #1 D held us down and our D has made average QB.s look like AA(Scheelhause, Gardner and Cook)
