tOSU vs. Nebraska, Sat 1/4 @ 12p ET, BTN

OSU needs ADV to keep his confidence up. He can stroke it with range, and be a big factor. I like the bench group, the only thing they're missing from that bench is production from the 5 spot, but I like how they have a few guys who can come in and score points in different ways.

Excellent win by the Bucks today. This team is really gelling right now. Playing awesome defense and finding some shooters. The depth is maybe the best it's been under Matta if you take into account the injured guys when Oden's class was here. 9 guys deep is pretty awesome.

Sorry for the lack of a SportsBook event fellas. Was up all night running fire calls & didn't get a chance to put one up before work.

I agree that the depth is good, I wouldn't go as far as to say it's Matta's best bench (2007 might have my vote there, 2013 was another good bench) but it's definitely one of the best, top-3 at least. The bench can be a big factor with this team, it is a good thing that they have produced as much as they have so far, and I would hope that the guys on the bench would grow as the season wears on and become even more consistent with their productivity. I know it seems like every game somebody off the bench gives the team a lift, but it seems to change every game although all three of the top bench players were good today.

OSU beat them in 2011, 2013 in Columbus. Lost to UW at home in 2012, Buford's Senior Day.

That was my birthday gift for the year. And it was a loss. But I was there this for this game and Matta is still toying with his line up after the starters don't get much offense going. I was able to get over my hangover from the Clem game by watching Craft fight his stroke during warm-ups. We go if Q and Lenzelle are hitting on O. If the other team has decent size down low, we are in trouble. This team can make a run if other cylinders are hitting along sides those two players. Sparty can beat us if Payne is on point, but that's it. We can match their backcourt. Wisconsin is going to be a pain in the ass though (as usual). No one else really scares me as for the B1G. We may lose an away game but that always happens (Iowa seems apropros). But the team should be in it until the end.

Yeah, I think with this team the starting 5 is one of the least talented starting groups Matta has had offensively, and the bench has been able to come in and provide a spark in a handful of games this year including this Nebraska game. My hope is that Matta will stick with giving the bench regular minutes this year and not shorten it like he did in the ND game - these starters can get you into a lull offensively due to their inconsistencies, and the bench guys have shown to at least one of them give a spark every game so he should stick with the rotation as he has had it in most games and give all those guys a chance to contribute in each half. I know to some extent it depends on matchups - the Purdue game is probably one as they were undersized against them so that meant more minutes for Marc and less minutes for ADV - but I'm hopeful that all of the bench guys will get a chance to contribute in every game.
