Game Thread tOSU vs. Minnesota, Sat 11/7 @ 8pm ET, ABC

So, that's what we're calling it now? Cool.

Ah, Col. Custer, your decision at Little Big Horn to ignore scout's warnings and to divide your regiment was...inspired. That's it. Inspired.

Ah, Capt. Smith, your decision on the Titanic to ignore multiple iceberg warnings while refusing to slow the speed of your vessel...Inspired.

And, a shared award in the I-Know!-Let's-Invade-Russia-In-The-Winter! category, Napoleon and Unca Adolph: Inspired, Gentlemen. Truly Inspired.

Inspiration. Where would History be without it?

Can't help but wondering if Mary Todd Lincoln won the Ford's Theater tickets in a raffle. :slappy:

I watched the entire Minnesota-Michigan game this past weekend. Minnesota is not good. I don't see how this game isn't a blowout win.
It's the same with Iowa, Wisconsin Minnesota, Michigan (I haven't watched Michigan State that much but I assume the same holds true for them to a lesser extent given the actually have decent skill position talent)...

They grind the other team's defense with a power run game and opportunistically utilize play action pass to really open things up.

If the other team's defense is not good this generally works fairly well. If the weather is bad it helps, which is a decent proposition in the Big Ten in November.

If the other team's defense is good and your mediocre QB isn't getting lucky with some throws, this style of offense is utterly worthless.

If Ohio State has a reasonably effective offense they will beat all of these teams.

If Ohio State has a reasonably effective offense and doesn't turn the ball over they should roll all of these teams.

Urban Meyer: As of right now Braxton Miller is the backup quarterback. "There's no question he's our No. 2 quarterback."

Hmmm...I like that statement. It tells teams "Braxton can throw, you shouldn't expect him to just run" without having to actually show it. Maybe the opposing D will treat the Braxcat differently the first few times opening them up to get gashed.

It just can't be a one man show though. He has to hand off the ball and he has to throw the ball.
JT was able to be effective running with not many passing attempts and so can Braxton. Braxton just has to take what the defense gives and if it's giving zeke the opportunity then let 15 handle it. If it's taking zeke away then do your thing Braxton.

Won't lie I'm jealous I won't be in the stadium to hear the crowd when Braxton comes in. It'll be different this time around IMO.

Defense should destroy this offense from minnesota. Mitch isn't a very good throwing QB and what he did against scum will not be replicated. Biggest threat will be #24 running because he has a good burst and then Liedner on the zone read. Put 8 in the box and we could see a 0 put up on the scoreboard

Since week 1 against VT, Cardale hasn't had a breakout game this season. I'm hopeful that he gets back on track this weekend and plays well. Being optimistic here I think being pushed back to 2nd team has to have motivated him to better himself. I'm going to go out on a limb and say he has his best game this year. Hopefully I am right.

Yep plans are being discussed too by the staff to use Braxton as the red zone QB... I am liking what I hear.
