Twenty-nine ... and one.
Top-ranked Illinois came to Ohio State on Sunday with high hopes of completing an unbeaten regular season. But the Buckeyes, ineligible for postseason play, had other ideas.
Matt Sylvester hit a three-pointer with 5.1 seconds left to lift OSU to an improbable 65-64 win over the Illini before a sellout crowd of 19,200 at Value City Arena.
The Buckeyes (19-11, 8-8) battled back from down 12 early in the second half and took their only lead of the game on Sylvester's clutch shot.
Sylvester led OSU with a career-high 25 points. Terence Dials added 21 points and eight rebounds. Je'Kel Foster had 10 points as well.
We will have more on this game as the afternoon wears on.

Kind of ironic because Hoosiers was on TV last night down here in florida. Too bad the WB absolutely butchered a classic.Xevious said:That's correct. We lost to #1 ILL this year, but before that we had a 4 game winning streak vs. #1, the last one was IU in 93. We are now 7-9 (43.7%) all time vs. #1.
Did anyone catch the halftime report of the UK/FLA game?
They showed a postgame interview with Sylvester and Matta. Apparently Sylvester pulled a Jimmy Chitwood move and told Matta during the TO that he would make the shot.
