Game Thread tOSU vs. Hawaii, 12 Sep @ 3:30p ET, BTN

Some game notes:

1. Ezekiel Elliott now has 2,262 yards rushing for his Buckeye career, putting him in 19th place on the career rushing list. Zeke needs 47 yards to pass Pete Johnson for 18th place; 78 yards to pass Lydell Ross for 17th place; 120 yards to pass Jonathan Wells for 16th place; and 205 yards to pass Howard "Hopalong" Cassady for 15th place.

2. Braxton Miller now has 3,116 yards rushing for his Buckeye career, putting him in 7th place on the career rushing list. Brax needs 83 yards to pass Carlos Hyde for 6th place, and 85 yards to pass Keith Byars for 5th place.

3. With two TDs against Virginia Tech, Braxton Miller became the Buckeyes' career leader in total touchdowns with 86. Braxton is second place in total yards with 8,408, and he is just 442 yards behind leader Art Schlichter (8,850 yards). Unfortunately for Braxton, "total yards" includes yards passing and yards rushing, not yards receiving, so his journey to the top of the record book will be a little more difficult.

4. Cardale Jones now has 1,049 yards passing for his Buckeye career. He needs 212 yards to pass Pandel Savic for 25th place on the career passing list; 225 yards to pass Rod Gerald for 24th place; and 290 yards to pass Greg Hare for 23rd place.

5. Joey Bosa has 21.0 career sacks, good for 7th place at Ohio State. He needs 1.0 sack to tie Will Smith for 6th place; 1.5 sacks to tie Vernon Gholston for 5th place; and 2.0 sacks to tie his uncle Eric Kumerow for 4th place.

6. Joey Bosa has 34.5 career TFLs, good for 14th place at Ohio State. He needs 3.0 TFLs to tie Cameron Heyward for 13th place.

I would be very surprised if Braxton didn't get 442yds on the ground this season (barring "the I word").

How exactly does an Ohio State football star get a tree in Buckeye Grove?

It's really cool to see those with two, and the few with three dates on their plaque. Anyone out there today who hasn't walked through here - make it a point to do so! You hard-cores will soak it all in under the shadow of the South Stands.

A lot of Braxton's touches will be those one-yard shovel passes that look like jet sweeps but count as receptions.

For sake of comparison, last year's H-backs (Marshall and Wilson) had a combined 43 rushes for 245 yards and 1 touchdown.
