Game Thread tOSU vs BYE (Game 1), Oct 12

As I sit here on the Bye week, my mind wanders to how much sports have SUCKED for me the last few years.

I hate every team remaining in the baseball playoffs.
I hate the Heat.
I hate the Ravens.
I hate Bama.
I hate that That School Up North even made by Final Four championship. I hate Louisville slightly less for handling that possible disaster.
Bama, Heat, and Patriots the year before? Maaan.

Feel like teams I even might have passing interests in winning aren't getting it done, let alone the teams I actually cheer for. I guess the LA Kings Stanley Cup run a couple years ago was maybe the best outcome I've been OK with...? Hell, I don't know.

So, I guess my point it this- here's to Buckeyes running the last half of the season, every other team falling on its face, and Urban Meyer curb-stomping whoever opposes the Buckeyes in January.

It's time to restore something right in my sports world.

Oh and I'm off to the bars.

My .02 post Bye;

-I don't care, it's time to call it like it is, OSU is significantly better than any team left on the schedule.
-If the back 7 start covering and tackling to the point of "good" there might not be another game that's even close.
-UNL and Sparty have the inside track to the other side of the B1G CCG, they meet in Lincoln week 12
-I'm not even remotely concerned about national polls yet. Too much football yet to be played.
-OSU has the easiest path to an undefeated season of any top team. Downside to that is if there are multiple undefeated OSU is likely going to lose out.
-It's fair and I can live with it if it happens.
-Odds are it won't.

And the first upset that can affect us, Stanford loses to Utah.

This was huge...with Washington failing to knock off either Stanford or Oregon the opportunities to do so were starting to seem pretty slim. Oregon has to play UCLA right before traveling to Stanford. About as good of a setup as one could hope for given the circumstances.

Clemson I'm not worried about, I think South Carolina gets them at the very least, hopefully they can take care of FSU next weekend (not as optimistic about the Gators handling the in state rival)

Lot's of football left

FSU always finds a way to choke. I won't be surprised if they lose more than 1 game this season.

After that blowout win over Bye yesterday we might move ahead of Clemson in the AP poll. It was almost embarrassing how the Bucks ran up the score. Note: Just almost embarrassing, not actually embarrassing.

Didn't you know? Our opponent this week was far inferior. SoS man!

Also, just looked at the polls. Of course Clemson stays at #3...
I don't really have an issue with them staying at #3 in the AP. I mean I don't think they should be #3 to begin with, but they didn't play so poor to have dropped a spot IMO. Now if they jump us in the coaches that's another story.
