tOSU vs Bowling Green, (Monday at 8 ET, BTN)

This is the type of game we needed to see where we are at...........we have some work to do.........Mullens is simply ineffective on both ends right now..........Dallas is simply a beast..........Turner continues to turn the ball over............Diebler was great tonight............

Look at the film...........get to work........this young team will learn from this.........

Announcers talking about Diebler being from Upper Sandusky and then talking about Cedar Point. Upper Sandusky is about an hour and a half south of Sandusky where Cedar Point is located. I guess neither have been there. :) Side note: Never understood why Upper Sandusky is south of Sandusky.

Buford not playing down the stretch confused me to say the least...

Lighty, even though he hit those free throws down the stretch, had a horrible game considering how experienced he is.

Buford is the only wing that plays fearless right now. Lighty and Turner won't/can't drive and create. Buford can.

The important thing is the "W" at this point. Lots of new faces, and replacing a key cog at PG with Butler being gone. Growing pains are to be expected.

No one will remember this game was close in February, but a loss would've hung there all season.

Baby steps...plenty of positives, especially seeing Diebler finding his stroke.

Well we got the win. Shouldnt have been as close as it was but we'll take the W. I love the way Diebler and Lauderdale played. Simmons is electric one minute and erratic the next. Overall we have some players thats for sure. Anyone know why no Kyle Madsen tonight?

BG wasn't using a big line-up, and if Lauderdale needed a rest, I imagine Mullens would have given it to him down the stretch.

Yea, Buford and Diebler are the only offense we have this game. Lauderdale is playing good defense but looks rough on offense and is having trouble blocking out too.
Anyone else baffled by Buford's absence from the lineup down the stretch?

Diebler played a phenomenal game, as did Lauderdale. Nobody else really seemed to be all there tonight.

Great to see Diebler using the drive early. Those early drives got him into the flow offensively and then his shot looked much more smooth.

Dang do we need the PGs to emerge though. I like them both but they're learning on the fly. Hard to be the new guy and be THE guy to lead down the stretch...man that makes me understand even more just how special Conley Jr was. But I digress. This will be a great learning tool for Thad's bunch.

I wondered why with the size advantage we weren't force feeding it inside to Dallas and BJ, but now I'm realizing that they are both pretty limited right now with moves in the paint. Loving Dallas' work on the defensive end though...he looks so much leaner and athletic this year.

Buford looked very comfortable out there tonight on both ends of the floor. Also suprised to not see him at the end. I love his shot!

Announcers said at the beginning that Thad is still trying to figure out who needs to be out there and which rotations work best...it's early and it'll be fun to watch these guys start to come together.

Speaking of the announcers...loved listening to JJ! One of my all time favorites! Talk about a scorer!

I can only guess that he was a possible liability on the defensive end though I thought he did a fine job on both ends of the court when he was in. I know consistent defensive play is one of the things Matta said he needs to work on and maybe Matta felt more comfortable with the Lighty/Turner/Diebler/Simmons lineup. But Buford's offensive game is smoooooooth... he's going to put up some big points in some games this year.

Good to see Diebler shooting with confidence and knocking down some big shots... a big step in the right direction.

Lauderdale looks much more confident on both ends of the floor this year. I didn't see much of Mullens but if Lauderdale can score around 10ppg it will help this team tremendously. I'd like to see him dominate the defensive glass a bit more.

I was a little disappointed by Turner's offensive game down the stretch... he tried to force the issue one too many times and turned the ball over too much. I have to remind myself he's only a sophomore and is still learning. :)

As mentioned by others the big issue with this team is who will step up in crunch time and score? We all knew Butler would be missed this year and unfortunately I think we'll lose a couple of close games because of this.

From what I saw a good effort for a young team... step #2 on the road was one taken in the right direction.

Good win vs. a well coached team. BG moved the ball well, and ran some good sets. The played Minnesota tough as well.

BG will win a significant amount of games this year. I think it was a good early season test. I'd rather play BG and get a good test, than play North Carolina and lose. By the end of the year, this win could have some value. I doubt it hurts.

Nice shooting from Diebler. Great D from Dallas.

When has it ever been okay to dribble into a double team and just jump into the air with nothing to do with the ball? Time and time again, Lighty and Turner have drove into the paint and jumped with nothing to do with the ball and turn it over. Correct me if im wrong, but isn't this fundamental taught at an early age?

Lighty and Turner are both pivotal players for this team to win, but I just cant understand why they continue to do this...

It was great to see Diebler show some flashes of his high school years, the last time he did that was against North Carolina last year...

Lauderdale has 13 blocks in 2 games...these are Ken Johnson stats he is putting up early on in the season...

I also question why Buford was not in down the stretch...he showed tonight that he belongs on the floor...

I know this is early in the season, but I am just baffled at the slow transition Mullens is having from high school to college...
