Game Thread tOSU @ Virginia Tech, Sep 7 2015 @ 8pm ET, ESPN

Have them talk to the defensive lines of Wisconsin, Alabama, or (especially) Oregon and see if they agree...
Those guys don't have Bud Foster, man.

I went over to that board yesterday and found the Brax to HBack thread. I was actually pleasantly surprised...since my only other fanbase reactions to judge it from was Penn State (Urban tried forcing him out but Braxton went public with a position change to spite him) and Michigan (too much stupid to count). They were actually knowledgeable enough to realize his shoulder probably isn't QB ready, so he's making the best of the situation. But there were still some morons who must be surprised every time they lose a game since they have the Great Bud Foster inventing defense for them on every down.

I'm waiting until I have enough "Turkey legs" or whatever it's called so I can start a thread. I want to start a score prediction thread and see what those hilljacks actually think...

If we can put up 530+ yards against both Wisconsin and Alabama I see not a whole lot of problems doing the same at VT. If Foster is as smart a DC as some say he is, he knew going into the game--even before Miller's injury--that out OL would be the greenest in the country...the fact had got to attack a totally green QB also instead of the two-time B1G OPOY was a bonus. So, he essentially had carte blanche. He won't have that this year...
I don't see 500+ yards for a couple of reasons. One, this is a true road game vs 2 neutral games you referenced (and in the case of the B1G Championship Game that was a quasi home game), and also it's the first game of the year. The offense will be downright silly by mid-season, but usually takes a couple games to get rolling. I do see 400+ though and that will be enough since I see them more around 250+. I think we out gain them by 125 yards or so. I'm going with 34-20.

Me thinks you give the VT defense and their crowd a bit more credit than they deserve. The Sugar Bowl, while technically neutral, was about 60-40 Bama fans, and Bama's defense was significantly better than VT's, especially against the run. Their crowd was completely out of the East Carolina game once EC went up 21-0. While VT came back in that game to make it a 28-21 loss, if we go up 21-0 in the first quarter VT may as well go home...

We'll see. I don't expect a blowout, but wouldn't hate one :). Also fyi their DL is supposed to be the strength of their team, and while good LB play is important to stop the run, a great DL helps that out. But to display their DL talent, at the ACC voting for ALL-ACC team their DEs got the 1st and 4th most votes and their DTs got the 2nd and 3rd most votes.

I'm looking something like 38-17, or maybe 45-20. If East Carolina can put up 28 and Boston College can put 33 on them on their home field, I feel pretty good about chances of putting up quite a bit more.
