Defenders are falling for every misdirection play, and falling hard.

Part of what is ailing Cardale is EZE isn't running the ball AND the receivers just aren't getting open.

Part of that is missing Marshall in the slot, but part of that is Va Tech's defense too

they need to establish the run. Widen the splits and make Va Tech stop you. Oh and fuck the option plays.

You don't turn the ball over twice, get a couple of questionable calls go against you and expect not to be put up against a wall. Especially with a defense that's forcing you to make plays and the plays aren't there.

What's shocking is the secondary looks worse than last year. Last year is was mostly VaTech making incredible catches. This straight up looks like Withers is coaching the secondary.

1. Just fucking figure out what you want to do on offense. I get both guys are great. I really do. But run ZEKE. Jesus Christ just run ZEKE. I don't care who plays QB but do it.

2. Just fucking put someone back who catches punts. Don't give a shit if it's Bryce Haynes. Hell, just don't send anyone back if you fancy that instead.

3. I need to see more consistent short passing game with Thomas, Miller and Samuel. Why haven't we seen that?

4. Defense needs to calm down. Over pursuing and not playing smart. Just calm the fuck down. It's Michael Brewer. Guy's going to be washing cars next year.

Best OLine in country looks shakey. Cardale and the O need to get the ball to playmakers. I like JTs distribution. Run the damn ball.

Defense can't get pressure without a blitz. Safeties lost. Corners okay. LBs aren't defending pass.

Special teams- kick out of bounds, missed FG, fumbled punt.

That was all around horrible the final 20 minutes. I'm shocked and frustrated.

That Bear front is in the offensive coaching staff's heads. After last year's games they went to school on it and started using counters and trap to beat that defense when other teams tried using it. Tonight they've tried to pass and speed option out of it. The negligence of Elliott is criminal.

I have no idea how a team with 85 blue-chip players doesn't have a single one that can field a punt. You can blame Marshall for being suspended, but he's shaky back there himself.

I don't think the defense is being out-coached in an Xs and Os sense. They are way too amped up - over-pursuing and taking themselves out of position. I've seen this defense play in a disciplined manner before, so I know they are coached to do it. Players just have to carry it through.

They really miss Michael Bennett. Interior d-line is getting abused.
