tOSU Transfer Portal Recruiting Discussion

  • The alleged "locker room" and character issues about Judkins is pure BS - a combination of sour grapes and an effort to scare off would be suitors. Tom Luke, the player development guy at Ole Miss, said that "Judkins is an absolute warrior and as tough as they come."
  • Seth McLaughlin is the starting center next year. Period. He's not playing guard. There was never a discussion about his playing guard. That is in ink (indeed, in stone). Any speculation about McLaughlin as a guard is an attempt to fill the "news" cycle. Alabama did not want to lose McLaughlin. This is a big win for OSU.

There is persistent noise that Alford is on the ropes. The alleged concern is that Day has spent the past two months convincing Trey to return. If Alford is not retained, then the expectation is that Trey departs for the NFL. This is also where some of the Judkins narrative derives - there is real, mutual interest. According to both SEC and Ole Miss writers, the $1.6M number being bandied about for Judkins is BS. What he will command in NIL is consistent with what OSU has demonstrably delivered to the established, elite players on its roster. While the mutual interest is sincere, it would ultimately prove a surprise if Judkins were to land at OSU. It's not impossible, but it would be a surprise.

I have heard Alford was on the chopping block as well. However, there is reporting that the next OC is making the call on staff, which conflicts with this.

Does it?

The impression I get is that they have a pretty solid idea of who the next OC is going to be already, it’s probably an NFL guy, and they need to wait until after the NFL team’s season is over to announce the move.

But the “surprise third move” (in addition to Dennis and Fleming) rumor fits right in line with this, in my opinion.

Heard Eliano may be gone, and Walton be in charge of whole secondary. That would be a massive surprise if true. I thought Eliano was doing a good job.
