2024 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

I wouldn't say this. Day doesn't seem to make changes to the staff until after the Season is over.... it's not over until after the Cotton Bowl game. Combs was an anomaly, hell 2020 was an anomaly so I think he moved on pretty quick when it was clear in 2021... once the Cotton Bowl is over if the staff looks the same going into next year ... then I'll break out my torch, because I've already got my pitchfork out...
Saban makes his change when it’s time. If LJ is staying then surely it can’t be for too long….so we need a succession plan. We don‘t have that

from 247. Hopefully he sticks.

11: 25 ET:

As we get closer to Jeremiah Smith's announcement time, noon EST, there is some buzz that Miami feels they can flip 247Sports No. 1 ranked who's been a verbal to the Buckeyes since Dec. 14, 2022. A source close to Smith still thinks this goes the Buckeyes way. Florida State rounds out the final three. We'll know soon.

Ryan Day doesn’t care about lineman.

Urban was a lot of things. A portrait of not dragging his feet on making needed changes he was not.
Lol yeah I don't get where this narrative of Day being slow to react comes. He's arguably been the most proactive OSU coach in modern times in terms of getting rid of dead weight. People love to bring up Coombs but Coombs arguably didn't even get a full season as DC before getting the boot. COVID fucked everyone his first year and he still fielded a defense good enough to get OSU to a NC. His second year he basically got demoted after the Oregon game. Like that's pretty unheard of. Meanwhile Urban kept Everett Withers around for two full seasons despite fielding disastrous defenses both years. Kept Ed Warriner and Tim Beck two full seasons despite breaking the most talented offense of the Urban Meyer era. Don't think we need to go too deeply into the Bill Davis experiment.

Parker Flemming is probably the only real head scratcher but even then his unit never had a game as bad as say, the 2016 Penn State game where STs literally gave that game away. They've been mediocre admittedly, but not absolute disasters like some units in years past.
