Looked over the list of visits, and WOW! Pantoni and I guess the players are gonna be hopping for at least six weeks. Have never seen the list of officials soooo loooong. Do like that the commits are all bunched together, so they can interact, and other than zoom, probably never have met. I guess that's why Pantoni is simply the best at what he does. If tOSU gets half of the 'new' 5*s in the fold, the Buckeyes will plug many a hole for years to come. To me, winning the mythical recruiting championship is momentary at best, and adding talent to the ranks to replace the outgoing players is paramount....duh....

Here's hoping that tOSU will be 'on their game', and these young men will at least see one of the finest college institutions on the planet. Would love to be a fly on the wall in June, so hear and see Mick espouse what he puts the players through. Heck, the before and after pictures of Miyan Williams would be enough to make me sign up, and I'm quite certain he's got even better to show the recruits. Of course if there were a few players in the massive weight room going through one of the workouts, I'd probably flee, but those kids have been doing this since they were six. Good luck for this week end, and several to follow. Go Bucks!

Harris was asked what Johnson had to say to him as he was going through drills.

“He was just telling me to work hard,” Harris said. “But that’s what I do anyways. It’s already instilled in me to do that. That is nothing new. I feel like I know what I’m doing.

“I learned you have to go 100 percent. Every drill, everybody is looking at you so you don’t want to have any bad reps. If you go 100 percent, you have nothing to worry about.”

Up until this week, the NCAA had not allowed in-person recruiting contact for prospects and coaches. Although coaches could conduct Zoom calls and text prospects, Harris said today marked the first time he had spoken with Johnson.

“The first thing when I got here, I sat down and talked with him,” Harris said. “I got some knowledge and talked to him. He’s not a coach who will throw you an offer over the phone. He wants to watch you work and then see what you can do. Then he will throw you the offer if he wants to.

“I feel like I showed my speed and my hands and my strength. I want to sit down and talk to him some more.”

Even matched against some of the better offensive tackles at the camp, Harris had few issues getting off the ball and using his speed and strength to get to the dummy quarterback.

“It was too easy,” he said with a smile.

Harris was asked what it would mean if Ohio State came through with an offer.

“It would mean a lot,” Harris said. “It would let me know where I’m at. I will talk to them after the camp and see what they are thinking.”

Harris was asked what possessed him to come up to Ohio State for the camp.

“I’ve never been to Ohio and I wanted to come up here and see what it was like,” he said. “I’m a fan of Chase Young. That’s my favorite player. I like the school, too.”

Harris said he was unsure if he planned to attend any other college camp dates.

“I’ll just look at whatever comes my way,” he said.

Local athlete attends camp and hopes for an offer:





“It was great,” Gorman told Buckeye Scoop after the camp. “I got to speak with Coach Tim Hinton, Coach Ed Terwilliger, Coach Al Washington, and Coach Larry Johnson. I spoke to Coach Johnson in his office for about 20 minutes after camp was over. We went over my camp film and some things I can work on. He said he is not going to offer me yet, but is very interested and wants to see how the upcoming season goes. He said he also wants to get me back up to campus again in June to do more work with him.”

Gorman said he will likely take Johnson up on that offer and is planning a mid-June return to Ohio State, in between other planned camps/visits to Notre Dame (June 6), Cincinnati (June 8), Tennessee (June 10), Pitt (June 19), and West Virginia (June 23).

“Those are the dates I have right now,” he said after sharing his list. “I’ll probably go to Ohio State one more time between the 10th and 19th.”

It’s still very early in his recruitment, but if the Buckeyes do end up offering, the hometown team’s gesture would mean a lot to the rising junior lineman.

“It would mean a lot,” he responded when asked. “Just with them being one of the best programs in the country as well as having some of the best coaches in the country, it would mean so much to me.”
