I really wanted to include Kenyatta Jackson, but I had to cap it at 25.
Maybe this has already been answered, but what’s the purpose is taking two TE’s in this class? We will have Royer, Gee Scott (converted), Sam Hart, and then the two. I’d much rather take a guy like Kenyatta Jackson than have a 5th or 6th TE on the team. And I mean this with all the respect in the world to the coaches.

They like to play 2-3 in certain situations if they can. 5-6 on the roster gives you some breathing room for an injury or two?

I dunno. Trust the coaches on stuff like this.

I see a lot of 2 TE formations. I don’t recall them using 3 at a time, honestly. I definitely trust the coaches, not that they need me trust them lol.

But I guess since this is a discussion, I’d prefer 5 scholarship TE’s on the roster vs 6. Use the other one for a DL or OL.

That would be another absurd class.
Based on current 247 Composite, that class would have....

1. An overall score of about 323.00 points
2. An average score per recruit of 95.31
3. Five 5* players and 17 on the top 120

It would probably be the #1 class in the country, although Alabama always seems to find a way to edge us out.

It would also be significantly better than Michigan's class.[/CaptainObvious]

I think they like to rotate three TEs when they can, and one of the biggest things with TEs in our system is versatility to do a lot of different things (as the primary position that motions all over the place), which means knowing the playbook, which means having guys with a few years under their belt to plug in when the time comes.

So you go from Hausmann, Farrell, Ruckert in 2020, to Ruckert, Stover, Royer in 2021, to Stover, Royer, Hart in 2022, then you potentially replace the top two in 2023 when these two from the ‘22 class would step in, and so on.

Looks like the only difference between our projection is the inclusion of Kenyatta Jackson and swapping Addison Nichols for Aamil Wagner.

Although I would be happy either way, my thought is that Studrawa would rather land a top interior guy in Nichols and take his chances with Dewberry or even Greene at OT rather than try to put the needed weight on Wagner.

His preference seems to be starting with naturally huge guys. But like I said, I’d be perfectly happy either way.

I don’t think it’s so much three TE formations as using three guys to rotate through regardless of the formation, which is especially important when it’s a two TE formation for injuries, breathers, mismatches (ie using Ruckert or Scott specifically in the passing game), etc.

Gotta be honest, I was a little curious on 2 TEs as well even though I really like the 2 we've got committed. Obviously the coaches know better than us but hey, when we keep stacking up top class after top class, we've gotta have something to talk about haha. I would like to see 5 OL in the class and looking at HotMic's list, I realized that is the glaring need right now. But if we close with Wagner, Greene and Dewberry I'll be pretty happy.

It’s also possible a guy like George Fitzpatrick is at the top of the board as a true OT prospect.

It’s an interesting problem to have... hopefully the coaches can navigate it successfully to land a combination that works out.

A few questions....

1. Do you think Ohio State is done at LB with just Hicks and Powers? Is Shawn Murphy (OSU in top 5) a real possibility? Does one of the safeties bulk up and get moved to LB?

2. With Wagner trending away from Ohio State, is Nichols the 4th OL? What about George Fitzpatrick (classic OT frame, needs development) and Carson Hinzman (strictly IOL), each of whom had good visits (although Hinzman would seem to be an obvious Wisky lean/lock)?

3. If Abor, Curry, Kanu, and McClellan (sick DL class, BTW) all commit, is there still room for a late addition like Kenyatta Jackson or Marvin Jones, Jr. (September OV)?

4. Finally, what about Kenneth Grant? Has PROJECT written all over him (think Dawand Jones), but he came out of nowhere to earn an "offer" at camp early in June, then got invited back for an official visit later in the month. Is he strictly Plan B (or Plan C), or is he a high-upside sleeper (has been compared to Johnathan Hankins, FWIW) who gets a later OFFER and winds up in this class?

Thanks in advance.
