2021 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

since the 2020 recruiting class is pretty much over...

i would love to have the list of the recruits who have not been able to visit osu because of all the noon kickoffs. how many west coast and mountain time recruits want to board a red-eye or 5am flight after their friday night games?

also pretty much an impossibility. i'm seeing nothing for lax to cmh midnight friday to 5am. heck, 5am doesn't even work because a non-stop flight is over 4 hours. in short, if you're a west coast player, you pretty much have no shot at making a noon kickoff during football season. considering 5 of our 7 home games are nooners, it's a good thing we had miami of ohio as one of our two non-noon games to impress traveling recruits.

also, as someone who played three sports a year in high school, rushing to the airport after a friday night game for a flight over 4 hours long where i probably won't get any (good) sleep was certainly not my idea of "fun as hell."

anyway, i'm sure we can all agree that 5/7 home games being noon kickoffs is not a net positive for recruiting. no way that either the coaches or the players prefer this.

Love the list and mostly concur. Donovan Jackson and Shipley will be tough pulls, but we've got a fighter's chance.

Made the top 8 for Monkell Goodwine. While Ohio State has offered, he’s probably not thread worthy until he shows any interest in visiting (he’s had an offer for almost a year and has yet to visit).

-Devonta has glowing remarks about Ohio State and what an offer would mean. He and his cousin, Ohio State target Jaylen Johnson, will be in Columbus for the Penn State game.
