There were 6 5* rb's in the class of 2014 that are pretty good; Fournette, Cook, Mixon, Michel, Chubb, and Royce Freeman. Are there any backs worth a crap that were above them?
maybe those sites aren't all that badThere were 6 5* rb's in the class of 2014 that are pretty good; Fournette, Cook, Mixon, Michel, Chubb, and Royce Freeman.
Not exactly, recruiting, like drafting in professional sports is an utter crapshoot. You’re predicting what these kids will become, but so many factors off the field factor into them failing at times(first time being away from home, not going to class and suffering grades, relationship issues, work ethics or lack of, understanding of playbooks, poor time management, etc). All the sites do is go off of what these kids did on the field and in camps. And camps and most HSs don’t stress RB pass blocking, or even pass catching if the kid is dominant. I’m sure everyone on this site can name a kid from their hometown or town they currently reside who they thought looked amazing playing on fridays, and only got small school looks or got to a major program and flamed out. I remember I, like many who thought that Brandon Saine would be rewriting record books and a kid named Daniel Herron would be an afterthought. I thought Jamaal Berry would bring Florida speed to the B1G and destroy opposing defenses. And the list could go on. Recruiting is fun, and not one person, expert or not can predict what 18-22yo men will becomeRecruiting services really do suck at doing the ONE thing they’re supposed to be good at.
Foiled again by the darn scribbles on the page.Pulled directly from the article:

Canceling Friday night lights for this?! I spent the last 6 years or so laughing at the bbq in the big house. Fat hoke has his players eating while ours are working out. Not a good new tradition IMO.
I don't like it either. I know a lot of the senior recruits did not work out at FNL, but plenty of the younger recruits did and the competitive atmosphere set the tone for the entire event. I don't expect Day to do everything the same as UFM, but not really thrilled to see FNL tossed aside when it was so successful in the past.
I thought Chase Young committed at FNL. Hes the only one I can think of, off the top of my headHow are you measuring the success of FNL? Entertainment value for fans in the stands? Did FNL actually cause any high ranked recruits to commit to OSU? Or did FNL actually create a scUM-ton of extra expense and work for staff and dilute the amount of time coaches could spend with the most desired recruits?
