2020 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

This lopsided victory against TTUN has to go a long way with recruitimg. Seriously, who wouldn't want to play for THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY!?
I was thinking of this earlier in the week... I would NOT want kids at this game if I was them.

1. You're going to lose
2. They'll see OSU

If they were smart they'd never have anyone up for THE game and just tell everyone they want to focus on the game plan etc.

ScUM coaches just can spin it they with the recruits help, they’d beat OSU. Certain kids eat that stuff up. The type of kids that eat this stuff up and commit to scUM though, aren’t the type of kids talented enough to beat OSU though...

The entire roster has already heard that recruiting pitch and committed to it, most likely. Nobody on that roster committed because of a scUM win, that’s for sure.

Exactly. For those that have committed, this is merely a training exercise for them, as this is what happens at noon on the final Saturday in November for their next five years

Yep. The entire roster as currently constructed are those kids who went to Ann Arbor or maybe Columbus, watched scUM get their susan punched on a Fall Saturday, and still committed to scUM thinking, “I could go for some more of that.”

The problem isn't that you have 3 stars on your roster. When you're predominantly composed of 4 stars with several 5 stars as well, you can take some 3 stars who look like they have what it takes to develop into solid players. It's when your roster is composed primarily with 3 star talent and sprinkle in a handful of 4 or 5s.. That's what we make fun of Hairball for.

There are always examples of 3 stars becoming studs but we've seen the data many many times. Stars do matter overall.

Tanner has a legit point imo. It's something worth noting just like all the swings and misses at RB this year.

Hopefully it's nothing but when you are trying to stay at the highest levels of performance, small things can make an impact.

It'll be interesting to see if the RB thing stays a thing or was negative recruiting about last years offense plus just missing on your top targets. Because if it was negative recruiting we should see a big uptick there next year.
