um's average player ranking (per 247) is .8872. that equates to 18 players ranked at 327th (3 stars).

We can crunch the numbers all we want, but the bottom line is this: With very few exceptions, Michigan is signing players that Ohio State passed on.

It's very difficult to beat Ohio State with players that weren't good enough to go to Ohio State. At this point, Michigan fan is relying solely on the magic bullet known as The Harbaugh Effect. Good luck with that.

Last year Michigan landed 11 players in the top 20 position-wise. With 18 spots spoken for they are going to be hard pressed to come close to that number.

Never underestimate the power of Harbaugh kicking committed recruits to the curb.

"Smith said Monday that Ohio State doesn't have an exact number to which they'd like to see the 2017 class expand, but the Buckeyes are operating under the assumption that they may take up to four more commitments, if everything falls their way."

but general consensus question. are we doing ok in recruiting this year? seems we might be having at least an "all right" go of things this recruiting cycle. anyone know if things are progressing "well-ish" currently?

technically speaking you could be wrong, but that would be highly unlikely . i have followed recruiting semi closely for at least 10 years. i just don't post here cuz... i know literally nothing on the actual ins and outs of recruiting others here don't have a far better handle on. this class is absolutely mind boggling in so many ways.

ant80, isn't striving for perfection what we should all seek to achieve in all aspects of life? as such... should this recruiting year continue on its current trajectory... this is now the new bar. congratulations to meyer, the staff and everyone involved currently and over the years that have made tOSU what it is today on setting the bar. now feel free to start prepping for next year so you can go meet our new "minimum" expectations for success in recruiting =P.

Ohio State and Michigan both have 18 commits for '17 Michigan could land #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, & #7 and still not pass OSU for #1 class.

I have: Akers, Okudah, McKinney, Tufele, Browning

Cage flips to ND, IMO. I feel that Wade is a toss-up with OSU and Bama but I have him sticking in the end.
