tOSU @ Northwestern, Sat Nov 5, 12pm, ABC

They gave up 7 points. In know its NW but this is on the offense more than the D
Oh yeah by far...the lack of variety in the run game is just disgusting...

Ryan Day's only great rushing offense was in 2019 with JK Dobbins and a running QB like Justin Fields in Ryan's first year coordinating.

IMO the book is out on this offense when running the ball. Teams know what we are going to do and when we are going to do it.

Ryan can get pissy with the media all he wants but there's tendencies he has to break and he's refused to do so on limited data (5 plays in the pistol for example).

Personally I wish we'd spread the field. We have talent for days at WR and it's clear that Rossi/TEs offer nothing but congestion in the run game.

The only positive I can take away from the run game struggles is that they seem to be more on OSU than the defenses. Looking like shit against Iowa and Penn State is one thing, but Northwestern is easily the worst rushing defense we've played so far. Rutgers, Wisconsin, and Notre Dame all have way better rush defenses than Northwestern and the Buckeyes ran the ball effectively against all three. Some weird shit going on right now with the run game.

The issue is we can't throw the ball so they're sitting on everything.

We talked all off season about needing to run the ball when everyone knows it's coming. Yet here we are and are really struggling.

The lack of variety in the run game is negligent if you ask me.
