tOSU @ Maryland, Sat Nov 19, 3:30 pm, ABC

Glad to see the team come back in the 2nd half again and play better. But this team is all over the place. No consistency and it's hard to win the Gane, onference, and be an NC contender without that.

Hayden is a great shot in the arm for the O, but the passing game looks off. A lot of hesitation and low outside throws by Stroud. Only 2 WRs that are consistently making plays. Not as explosive and not consistent.

Defense has gotten much better, but the DTs are inconsistent and the CBs struggle. Hard to lean on them to win a game.

I guess it's only fair to point out how important the running game is to consistency on offense and allowing the passing attack to breath. If they start Hayden or play him in the 1st half, it's a much more comfortable game.

Other than the opening drove drive, they had no rhythm in the first half because Day insisted on running a hurt Henderson and they were constantly in 3rd and long. I don't understand why the short passing game is so bad. It appears and then disappears just as quickly.

Part of that might also have to do with Stroud hesitating too much. I'm surprised by how often he hitches this late in the season.

Sure but it kinda begs the question of which UGA team you're gonna get.
Not really. They stepped up for the big games. They rolled Oregon and Tennessee and trounced a mediocre Florida team in their big rivalry game. Having an occasional game where you don’t play up to your standards happens to everyone. But OSU has struggled in that area way too often. There have been a number of games where they played poorly but got away with it because it’s a down year in the rest of the B1G. I’m not really even that worried about TTUN. But it seems like a little late in the season to think all the things that need to get cleaned up are going to get cleaned up. I feel like this team probably is who are they are right now.

If they come out on fire next week and play with energy and toughness, play smart and limit the penalties, and play a complete game, I’ll feel a lot better. They’ve had this game circled on their calendar all year. There’s no reason not to get off to a fast start playing with focus and intensity.
