tOSU @ Iowa, Sat 1/17 @ 2p ET, ESPN/WatchESPN

This game was basically decided in the first 90 second when Iowa went out 9-0. Bucks have been trying to catch up ever since.

Article on Iowa's Aaron White (from Strongsville, OH):

It’s all right there for Iowa: A shot to win the Big Ten title. It has been a while since the Hawkeyes have won a regular-season championship. You have to go back to the 1978-79 season.

“It has been that long,” said White, when informed of the 36-year drought. The 6-9, 228-pound senior is doing his part. He ranks No. 8 in the Big Ten in scoring, averaging 15.8 points. He also ranks No. 4 in rebounding, averaging 7.1 boards. That’s a big reason why the Hawkeyes are tied in the conference loss column (one) with four other teams in the Big Ten race. I caught up with the Strongsville, Ohio, native as Iowa (12-5 overall, 3-1 Big Ten) prepped to play host to Ohio State on Saturday.

Q: You are an Ohio native. Did you watch the Buckeyes in the national title game beat Oregon on Monday night?
A: I caught the end of it. We were in Minnesota, out to dinner.

Q: Did you care if Ohio State won or not?
A: No, I really didn’t. I had Buckeye fans all around me when I was growing up. But I wasn’t a real big fan.

Note: He was just rated a 3-star prospect and didn't get an offer from Ohio State. His only B1G offers were Iowa and Northwestern.

Kid is 6'9 and 220lbs and he's better than any combo of Amir/Trey/Lee....

This is NOT a tournament team. Far too inconsistent and with virtually no contribution on the inside, Matta would be better served to go 5 guards and run all damn game.
