Ffs. The O line and Special Teams are the weak links, and they have been ever since Ryan Day took over.
He NEVER signs enough OL. 2026 class: 5 OL (Great!) 2025 class: 3 OL, 2024 class: 4 OL, 2023 class: 4 OL, 2022 class: 4 OL. 2021 class: 3 OL. 2021 class: HOLY SHIT! HE SIGNED 6 OL.
The last time I checked, you need 5 OL on every single offensive snap.

Oh please. Guess what? My opinion differs from yours.
O-line played surprisingly well in the game early, literally dominated. Didn't adjust the rest of the game when texas figured they needed to sack Sayin after they couldn't stop much else. Play calling needed to adjust to this, and didn't.

Agreed. FWIW, Zach Smith had said he thought he saw what he needed to from the OL. That it was a very good performance.
Texas dialed up the pressure and there were no adjustments. We kept just dropping back throwing downfield. Would’ve been nice to see some more quick hitting stuff or some screens. Yet, nothing.
The OL didn’t dominate but they played pretty well all things considered.

I mean I wasn’t really pissed, just stunned. And I’m not feeling great because it feels like it’s all mental with the coaches at this point. To call Saturday night a disaster is an understatement. Blowing a 20-point lead through out the game is bad enough. Blowing a 20-point lead in the 4th goddamn quarter is the mother of all fuck ups. At least 28-3 happened to the what many consider the greatest QB and greatest coach in history. Day fucked up a lead against Starch Manning and Steven goddamn Sarkesian. They’re probably going to fuck up and find a way to lose this week to UTSA because Manning throws five picks or something. Day now owns two of the worst losses in OSU history.
So no, not feeling great about this team right now.

Yeah I have to agree here too.
Certainly will not feel wonderful going into Iowa or Indiana that’s for sure.
There’s just so many games that go this way. 2019 Clemson, 2022 UGA, 2025 ND, and now 2026 Texas. We are fortunate we pulled out the Notre Dame game.
But the three games I mentioned it looks like the most dominant performance I’ve ever seen and then it just stops.
Stunned is the right word. I’m still stunned.

Still not concerned much about Iowa.
The Indiana game has become extremely pivotal though. Either you win and get back over the hump moving forward, or you lose to them again and become a hair away from completely missing the playoffs if you don't execute against USC Oregon and scUM.

That's what I saw as well. I get why Arthur kept running up the middle: it worked. But they're probably going to figure that out eventually, so you have to get into a rythm that mixes it up more, and have a contingency plan to adjust.
Looking at Arthur Smiths placement among OC's in the NFL doesn't speak highly of him. His biggest success was with the Titans and having Derrick Henry helped out tremendously. His offenses ranked in the mid 20's a lot.

I think the 1st half gameplan on offense was actually pretty good for the most part. It was set back though by 2 awful play calls though. The pitch play inside the 5 after the 1st play turnover, which ended up causing us to have to kick a FG and the 4th down play call, going for it on 4th down there is fine, but that play call was bad. They were VERY aggressive at the end of the half going for that TD instead of playing safe for a FG there.
