All-time series: Ohio State leads 7-0

The return of Greg Schiano to Rutgers led to a more competitive Scarlet Knights team in 2021. However, that was not exactly the case in last year's matchup. Ohio State cruised past Rutgers, 49-27 last year to improve to 3-0 on the season and go up 7-0 in the all-time series. Rutgers looks like it is slowly turning things around and the Scarlet Knights might be able to compete with Big Ten teams a little more seriously moving forward, so we will see if that's the case this year.

Just opining now that I’m already upset about the gimmicky plays Schiano will dial up that will work successfully against us next week. It’s inevitable and I’m peeved a week in advance. Thank you.

The top ten nationally ranked teams from week one of the season have lost a total of 5 games.

There are five teams in the B1G East (Michigan, MSU, PSU, Maryland and Rutgers) whose only loss was to another team in that group of 5. And that was a close game.

One could make the case that OSU is the sixth best team in its division. Particularly if they saw our defense play.

This week Rutgers is not the team with something to prove.

I think you misunderstood the point. Oh8ch wasn't suggesting Rutgers was going to roll over and play dead. He wasn't arguing Rutgers isn't going to be able to hang with OSU. He's saying Ohio State better get their shit together because Rutgers is gonna come to play. In other words, OSU will have the pressure to "prove it"

Yes. Look at our schedule there's not a gimme in there. I'd think the best bet is vs Maryland and Purdue? Since their defenses aren't great. Even then every team is going to give this defense issues and that starts this week.

I'd be surprised if we control this game from start to finish.
