tOSU at Rutgers, Oct 2nd, 3:30 ET on BTN

Every B1G game is going to be a dog fight for OSU this year. I'd just get ready for it.

That said, OSU has a ton more talent to work with than everyone else.

All comes down to defensive improvement.

Agreed. Every year every team wants to try to slay Goliath. I think some teams might be smelling a bit of blood in the water based on our shaky D and making them a bit more optimistic. Looking for the D to put a complete game together in conference play.

Rutgers will probably score first drive. Question is, how does OSU respond and can they get a lead in the first half so they can control the game with the run? McCord was about what I expected. Looks like a very talented freshman making great throws and freshman mistakes. I still think Stroud has been better even with misses, but both are going to give you a good chance. With an emerging superstar at RB, Day will not be as eager to go pass heavy the rest of the year. Hopefully OSU can use RPOs to lighten the box and break big plays on the ground or through shorter throws with less risk.

OSU has a lot to prove. Good thing is, young guys have gotten their feet wet, they've faced some adversity and are more confident now. Can they start to see things slow down? I think it'll be frustrating at times during every game this year, but we'll also see a lot of big plays and positive swings of momentum.

And for the love of god stay home on D and expect the whole damn bag of tricks

It’s too bad Rutgers couldn’t pull off the upset against Michigan. I saw a defensive holding call made in the Packers-Niners game yesterday that was less egregious than the one Michigan got away with in the end zone late in the game on Saturday. Rutgers got screwed on that one.

Remember, Rutgers beat Michigan in their first year in the conference. And they also make Michigan the second oldest football program in the conference. They’re the oldest football program in Div-I. I think that’s pretty cool. I’m rooting for Schiano, just not this week.

Harrison/JTT - Garrett - Cage/Williams - Smith/Sawyer

Chambers - Gaoteote - Simon

Burke - Hickman - Martinez - Brown
(Banks in Nickel)

Give me that Defense to roll with and I'll sub as needed for fresh legs and situations. Heck, maybe move Hickman back in centerfield to be a Hooker type safety and sure tackler. The young guys are producing. PLAY THEM!
I posted this a couple weeks ago and I'm still totally for it. Rotate Gaoteote out for Watts for situations with Hickman at the Bullet. These guys have shown up more than the others on the field.

Yeah, it appears that after four games its time to stop with the massive rotations and depend on a smaller group of guys. We will still sub along the DL but need to limit it in the back seven.
I’m also hoping the D-line subs will usually be for a series, rather than running guys back-and-forth all the time.
