Game Thread tOSU at Penn State, Sat. Nov. 2, 12pm ET, FOX

So.... I'm still pissed about 2016. The refs owe me for that one. I paid for their help and didn't get it. In fact, they laughed at me as they gave that help to Penn State.
I haven't paid them since.
I have now decided to forgive and forget. I've made my donation to the ref fund. I recommend you do the same.

My pessimism is tempered by the fact that:

-Based on what we saw last week, Jackson does not have to be a world beater. Hate to pile on an injured player, but mediocre would be an improvement over Michalski's performance last week. This especially holds true if Dennis-Sutton can't go or isn't 100%
-Pretty much any worry about our team - game-planning, attitude/mentality, talent, ability to execute, etc - also applies to Penn State as well. In particular, they haven't put together what I would call a solid performance on offense all year. Regardless of who is at QB, I don't expect them to hit the big plays over the top that Oregon did.

We win a close one as long as we don't lose the turnover battle decisively. 24-20. Fans remain unsatisfied and this top 5 win doesn't count because 'James Franklin'.

Ohio State could win by 30 and people would still bitch. It's what this fanbase does. Self-loathing and whatnot.

I make a yearly observation around this time of year that most of the "fans" that inhabit Ohio State fandom wouldn't survive a 2002-type year.

The key is to survive and advance. 1 point or 30 points, doesn't matter.

I saw the 2002 team twice. Once at Cincinnati. No one dreamed they'd win the Natty. We were worried they'd get past Michigan.
