Just sayin':

1) Think about just how fantastic the ending of the game was. When was the last time you remember Ohio State being ahead in a 1 score game with the #3 ranked opponent having 1st and goal at the Ohio State 3 with 6:43 to go and all 3 timeouts; and the game ended with (basically) 4 perfect plays by the defense and then 11 perfect plays by the offense?

2)

Yes it was.

James Franklin Said Ohio State “Had A Championship Drive” To Ice Win Over Penn State In Top-Five Matchup

150317_h.jpg

“Give Ohio State credit, they did a really good job today…We only scored six points on offense, we scored seven points on defense against a really, really good team. Are they good on defense? Yes. But do we gotta find ways to manufacture points in yards? There's no doubt about it. So we didn't get it done, give them a ton of credit.”

“We jumped offsides on an obvious third-down situation and extended a drive for them. [We made] a tackle, and standing over a guy for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on a third-down stop that extended a drive. Can't do that, can't do those things…That's all on me..”

They had a championship drive right there at the end. We did not play well in an obvious running situation. We did not handle, I think, the fact that the offense didn't score in that situation well.”

I've never said anything about the body language, but this was a whole heck of more cohesive looking team today. Not saying they were finger pointing or quitting but there was a mildly concerning lack of esprit de corps maybe?

Which is to say, some shit went wrong today and there were no let downs or breakdowns in focus by any unit. Sometimes its the realization that you are indeed imperfect and it takes everyone to overcome some weeks. Everyone needs to pick the o line up. I thought those QB runs to make big plays/1st downs in the 4th were huge. Players want leaders. The defense is going to spend the trip home having given up 6 on the road.

And sometimes you just need to know you can win close, especially on the road.

Good for Ryan, Chip, and Knowles too. Trust goes both ways.

And also I should probably make a sticky announcement but I really really really didn't like the comments today:

"If we lose it's ______'s fault" and the blank was a player. That's gonna be a break if I see it going forward. Feel free to complain to management.

I’d like to shout out all the back ups who played today. This is what we need to be doing so it was great to see the adjustment.

I saw McDonald and Kanu in on that 4th and goal stop. I think even Hicks was out there too. Not to mention all the reps the backup DL got throughout the game. I saw Matthews out there on defense, you had Innis score and make a few grabs, and then Thurman shows up in an enormous way as well on that 4th down.

This is buckeye football and this is how you get an entire team to buy in.
It's almost like coaches should rotate guys instead of playing the starters all 65 plays.

In the Tennecleat-Bama game, the Vols played 10 DL in the first half.
