Game Thread tOSU at Penn State - Oct 27th, 5:30 ET, ESPN

On the one hand, the Buckeyes are coming off 2 bad performances against cellar B1G teams.

On the other hand, the Buckeyes seemohthisclose to finally putting it all together.

So, I predict a win with Matty McMoxie throwing 3 INT's, Carlos scoring 3 times and getting 150, and Braxton having a clean sheet for the game.

Don't turn it over, Buckeyes win rather easily. Give the ball up 2/3 times, this one is too close for comfort.

the 2007 beatdown was a rather fun one to watch. Boeckman sliced and diced their secondary

Agreed. We were clicking on all cylinders. I loved the 2009 beatdown where the defense just SHUT them DOWN! Terrelle's deep ball to Posey sticks out as a turning point in that season which culminated with a Rose Bowl victory.

Hoping for a similar performance from our Bucks this weekend.

I have been really impressed with what PSU has done with what they have. I will say this - they had better beat us this year, because if they don't, it could be a really long time before they can do it again. Those sanctions are going to really kick in next year and just hammer them worse the next few years. Then it will take them x years to recruit their depth back. I think this will be the last competitive game we will see for a while between these 2 teams - if this one is competitive.

Prediction: OSU plays adequate defense and the offense is firing on all cylinders and no special teams blunders or egregious turnovers = Bucks by 2-3 TD's plus.

Defensive breakdowns leading to big plays, O starts slow, several TO's and ST problems = down to the last possession.

I'm hoping for the former. Despite the fact that boys were raped in the context of their football program, their fans are still incredibly arrogant. Will do my heart good to see them get a good dose of the reality they are facing in the coming years.

I don't think may marriage can survive too many more games with me screaming at the TV. I either need to find a bar to watch or learn to control myself. Hmmmmmm......

I think your spouse needs to find someplace else to be during the games. At least that was the end result in the Katt House.

Penn State's defense has played great this year. Our offense did just enough to beat Michigan State against a good defense on the road...can we do it again? I think if we can keep composed on the road in this very hostile environment we will win, and that means no turnovers and capitalizing on big plays when they opportunity presents itself. This game will likely be close in the fourth quarter...and a loud crowd could make it difficult on the Buckeye offense. The Buckeyes need to fight through, play smart, and I expect the defense can do what it has done in the "big" games this year. It seems like when we need the defense to show up, it does. It made big stops against MSU and Nebraska when needed. Then we saw it against last week. I hate to say it, but we are going to need a big game out of Boren. Maybe forcing a turnover or two. I love our corners in this game. Big day for them.

Ohio State football: Keeping Miller in games is a big concern

Meyer talked earlier this year of possibly having Miller and Guiton on the field at the same time. That plan seems kaput for now.
?If we did, Braxton would be the runner, and I?m not sure it?s the right time to do that,? Meyer said.

Send Brax out in space and let Kenny toss one to him. Or better yet, keep Brax in as the pitch man and have Kenny go down field to Stoney with one. Mwahahahahaha.............................

Miller, KG & Carlos all in the backfield together? Oh my. :oh:

Granted these numbers mean nothing come Saturday, but I thought this was interesting...

Penn State gives up 322 yards/game, good for 22nd best in the country. On average, they've faced an offense about as good as Miami (OH) every week (average opponent ranking: 84.7, Miami ranking: 84).

Ohio State gives up 393 yards/game, good for 63rd best in the country. On average, they've faced an offense almost good as Penn State's every week (average opponent ranking: 61.4, Penn State ranking: 59).

What does it all mean?? Nothing really.
