Game Thread tOSU at Penn State - Oct 27th, 5:30 ET, ESPN

Great win guys. Point proven. The D played really well tonight despite some garbage time points. 9-0 is 9-0 no matter how it comes.

scUM is losing 7-0 early in the 2nd. It can't get any better than this.

Something tells me things start clicking both offensively and defensively. I'm not saying our offense has struggled, but the Bucks haven't had both units click in the same game. They played pretty well defensively against Michigan State, but Sparty's offense is atrocious.

Kenny Guiton or Braxton Miller at QB, it doesn't matter. Both bring a dynamic to the game that Penn State will struggle with. I'll be absolutely blown away if Miller is cleared and ready to play by Saturday. If Guiton starts, look for Jake Stoneburner to be the X-factor in the game.

I made an interesting observation once Guiton came into the game and was able to immediately get Stoney involved. Braxton Miller spent four years at Wayne without a true receiving TE. I'm not so sure he's at the point in his career where he's getting to Stoneburner in his progressions. Yes, I know Jake has been converted into a WR, but he still lines up at the natural TE position in some formations.

As for the defense, here's to hoping the secondary can work on slowing down the quick slants and screen passes. I think Penn State is going to key in on using a similar gameplan that Purdue brought to the Horseshoe this past weekend. If they try to do what Purdue primarily did, they are going to run into a buzzsaw, IMO. Urban, Fickell, and co. are going to make sure this secondary and LB's are keying in on those type of plays, while hopefully containing the big play. As for containing the run, I'm not incredibly worried. I know they looked impressive running the ball against Iowa, but they are a shell of what they have had in the past defensively.

I really fucking hate predicting a score, but after my horrendous prediction (while being sarcastic, I fully expected a blowout) in the OSU-IU game, I need to redeem myself a bit.

I'm going to say:

Ohio State 38
Penn State 28

Not too far off...
