Could’ve played McCord and let him throw in garbage time last year too….but here we are
True. Trying to pad Stroud's stats for the Heisman. Last year at Iowa, it was 47 to 10 with 11:27 left in the 4th quarter. I don't think anyone would think that Iowa would come back in that game. Day runs out Stroud again. McCord comes in with 5:37 left. He got about 5 plays.

I don't think McCord is an issue. This is a new QB against a good defense on the road. I think he'll be really good by the end of the season. Maybe before.
McCord looked shaky first 2 drives but hes really done well since then. Cant blame him for drop passes in the EZ and 3 runs in a row inside the 3 yard line.

Yup. Walked the line between padding CJs stats in garbage time to get him a Heisman and getting McCord reps to prepare him as the future starter. Failed at both.

But I think McCord can be that dude, he just needs the reps in live action. This is only his fifth start. He’s clearly amped up, and sped up from the OL breakdowns early this season. He’s actually got time but sailing so many balls tonight.
