Game Thread tOSU at Nebraska, Sat October 8, 2011, 8 pm ET, ABC

If Martinez decides to get pass-happy, the D will likely give us two scores, or at least put us in a very good position to score some points. Otherwise, no one runs away with the game. I think our run defense is good enough that if we can keep you guys from getting to the edges, we'll be ok. I don't think we win unless Martinez gets pass-happy, but we will keep it close (and low scoring).

Our D is the only way we could score, and it could not against Sparty. We had perfect opportunities for at least one pick-six and could not cash in. Our D has played great all year. Too bad the Offense can not help them out. There is only so much you can call on the D to do for your team.

I have a bad feeling about this game. Maybe it is good that I have a family event that will keep me away from the TV that night.

Nebraska wins this game - ugly - if it sticks with the running game no matter what. Martinez doesn't possess the critical thinking skills necessary to succeed as a passing QB. He is an excellent runner and we have four excellent RBs to complement him.

We had wide open receivers all night last night. Unfortunately, Martinez was given a read and he went with it, without the ability to see that the read he was given wasn't open.

However, if Braxton Miller is given the reins, and Fickell sticks with him, and our defense doesn't play a HELL of a lot better, you'll move the ball on us.

This should be a 14-17 game, and the winner is anyone's guess.

While I greatly appreciate the vote of confidence, I think you're going to be very pleasantly surprised to see how well you guys stack up next Saturday. After that ridiculous performance by Nebraska last night, I don't see how anyone can think we're going to beat the hell out of Ohio State.

I think this will be a four-quarter game, and the team that makes the least mistakes will survive. I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see a two-touchdown OSU win.

The way I see it: it's Michigan State 2.0 (with a little more flavor).

I consider the Nebraska D better than Michigan State's, and I imagine the Brothers Pelini will have the Blackshirts flying every snap. Essentially, 3 and out over and over again for the Bucks.

Nebraska O will move the ball, but T-Mart and the Buckeye D will keep the score low.

Plus, going to Lincoln for the first time, the Blackshirts are going to want to redeem themselves in front of their fans. I'm fearful.

I'd be extremely surprised.

If the offense can somehow muster up anything I could see it being a close game. But if Nebraska takes any sort of early lead (say, 14-0) then things will start looking grim quick and that'll be the case the rest of the year. It's bad when the team's offense is so inept that when MSU went up 10-0 with 10 left in the 4th it felt like an insurmountable deficit.

The result of this game is going to shape the rest of the season IMO, either for better or worse. A big win in Lincoln would really go a long way in boosting the team's confidence, and a blowout loss could completely destroy it.

We all just need a beer. Listen to us:

We suck this year.

No, we suck this year.

No-no, we are worse than you.

Au contraire, we are very bad, and you are better than us.

I have to spread some rep around....but I laughed at this.

I think people don't believe that Wiscy is that good or that the Bucks are that bad. I'm going to have my OSU gear on, TBDBITL on the stereo, brats and italian sausage on the grill and a bunch of Urquelle Pils and Spaten Oktoberfest in the ice chest, but it could get ugly, fast.

That's a good Wisconsin team, a decent Nebraska team and that's an awful Sparty team.

Draw your own conclusions.

Win or lose, Go Bucks!

Our defense is good enough.
Can we get the Tat 3 on offense up to speed enough to add a spark?
Just having one good, veteran WR (Posey)could open up things for the entire offense.
It could be that playing both QBs may be our only option at this time.
This is not a "must" game and could serve to prep us for division play.
Illinois is a "must" game.
Bye week.
Wiscy is a "must" game.
And of course, scUM is a "must" game.

Haha, I just came in to post this. Last year when me and the wifey decided to go to this game, I looked forward to some innocent pregame smack talk with Husker fans. Now I envision the above conversation happening.

I think it's the best, most complete Wisconsin team I've ever seen.

Draw your own conclusions.
