Game Thread tOSU at Nebraska, Sat October 8, 2011, 8 pm ET, ABC

I never thought it would be as close as it was honestly. I picked UN to win and cover.

I put on a brave face and said that the Bucks would win 17-13 but I never believed it.

Great game men and a great win for the Huskers.

I'm disappointed and feel just awful for the players. The coaches have some explaining to do as always, but this season is going to be a learning experience for all of the young guys. The rest of the schedule is tough no matter how you slice it. No gimmes at all.

I just hope that the selfish actions of a few don't set the program back for any length of time. Anyone who doesn't think that Ohio State has punished itself need only look at what's going on right now. The repercussions of these suspensions and dismissals have the potential to impact the program for years to come.

Off to bed. Damn.

Amen. With Pryor alone this team is 6-0 and we're ranked in the top 5.
What Pryor also did to this team was ensure we didn't get a quality QB to back him up. Who would want to sit behind Pryor for 2-3 years?? Heck, now a days kids don't even want to sit ONE year. I would've just rather never had Pryor to begin with because atleast that way we would've had a shot to have a quality QB through recruiting for this.

1-10 and 1 INT... ouch. Even if Braxton comes back next week he won't be himself from a mobility standpoint. I doubt he's back next week though because this happened last year to Braxton and he missed a game or two.

The quarterback at Ohio State should never go 1-10 with a pick, and this isn't even the first time he has had numbers like that. His Miami game was about the same. If BM is out for the year, I doubt we win another game.

Hey Indiana and Purdue - maybe. We have better backups than JB. He's going to continue being the T-shirt launcher as stated elsewhere. I need a football for my nephew maybe I sould buy a game ticket in the third row and see what happens - could catch a pass from Joe and get a ball.

I wasn't attacking FTR

It's just funny how in the beginning of the 3rd Q I was counting down to the 4 min mark.(tress ball) No offense, I wasn't trying to call you out, our points were basically the same.

I kept thinking even if tOSU managed to lose the game somehow as long as Brax didn't get hurt they showed serious promise and I was relieved.

All in all. This QB situation is on the coaches for not seeing what is happening in GAME TIME. I don't give 2 fucking shits about a "practice player" get Taylor and Kenny some meaningful reps in practice AND in a game. This isn't rocket science. It's football. That's all it is.

S'OK, we're all a little understandably frustrated tonight. This I agree with, I'm so fucking tired of hearing "you all aren't at practice" it makes me want to punch a wall. No, we aren't at practice, we just see what actually happens during regulation FBS football games, and go from that. Perhaps the coaches should as well.

And another player quoted as saying we got out schemed..."they made adjustments and we didnt" - Tyler MOELLER

Okay. Seriously? We are Ohio State. The teams we play should be saying this crap about us. No way that Ohio State should get out-schemed, which is what the 3rd time this year?

UM HELLO, RED FLAG!!!!!

I'm losing respect for some players on this team with each public word they utter.

In spite of the deficiencies with the coaching staff this year, there isn't a player on this team that has room for criticism, and especially not in public.

It's like you guys forgot about the first half of that game. I know the whole game is important but hell I'll just say the injury was luck on behalf of Nebraska.

Nobody forgot, it's just that the second half happened and the second half was when everything happened that caused OSU to lose this game.

The coaching staff can't make adjustments in game its has been evident in every game this year except Akron when it wasn't necessary. In all honesty Toledo, Miami, MSU, and Nebraska all have better coaching staffs and none of them are even good. It's time for change do whatever it takes to lock up Urban

I have to say, I get a lot of "suck" arguments, but not the "selfishness" argument. Who exactly was being selfish out there? I mean I didn't exactly see anyone padding any stats...

??

Respectfully, Where have you been for the past year??

A Selfish coach and a few selfish players hung these guys out to dry tonight with their absence.

I am proud of the guys who played tonight with one notable exception.

I assume he referred to Tress, Pryor, Herron, Posey, Thomas, and Adams.

Sorry  I thought you were talking about guys that were part of the team and out there playing from the beginning of the season, not the guys from Tat-gate. Carry on.

Nobody was being selfish out there. The selfish ones weren't on the field.

EDIT: Whoops, missed the original poster's response.

Yeah...even if it's true and the players are frustrated, which I don't doubt, I just don't see anything good, useful, or productive out of airing dirty laundry in public.

Agreed. It's like the players are trying to get Fickell fired. I imagine they don't need to help, but they sure as fuck shouldn't be trying. As for Bollman or whoever, if they didn't have the balls to say that when we were winning and JT was here, don't fucking say it now when it's easy to pile on.
