All I'm going to post in the game thread is this...

It's unfortunate that, down 14-6 in the second quarter, and I viewed that as some type of mythical Grand Canyon to jump over. 8 points should not be a death sentence, but I had little to no faith that the offense could overcome it.

It's same ole, same ole on offense. Lack of execution. There's not a lot of teams in FBS or FCS that can have the kind of passing game we saw Saturday night, yet it wasn't the first time we've seen it.

ESPN:
The four completions matched the program's worst total for any game in the last 15 years, something that happened on three other occasions.

Looks like a lack of coordination on offense. I think I may know who's in charge of that.

I listen to the game and somehow it was less painful. Couldn't see the dropped balls, overthrows, INTs, fumbles, etc.

Best plays of the game were Ben B's punts.

Still think Brax should start and "learn" from his mistakes. We'll be better every week and next year.

I'm with you, but the offensive problems can't be narrowed to one player, coach, or any single thing. It was a systemic failure, but the key ingredients are a lack of trust in the qb, lack of confidence throughout, and an emphasis on maintaining low risk.

Yeah, they were down 8 points and managed an entire 6 yards in the 3rd quarter. We might have been better off if the Bucks were down 9-14 points because then Bollman might have been prompted to do more. As it was, what I saw in the 4th quarter was an offensive approach that seemed content to lose 17-6 than to try to win - and that right there is hard to stomach. In the immortal words of Herm Edwards, "You play to win the game!"

But I love the Buckeyes unconditionally, and the upside to their offensive woes is that they have 9 more games to get better - and they will, but we have some ugly games coming here in the next month.

Urban Meyer isn't some demiGod savior.

No one other than maybe Terrelle Pryor could have turned that dreck around last night. A true freshman QB and a 5th year senior with less than 20 passes in his career coming into the season isn't a situation where a coach can fix things immediately.

I agree with you that Miller still would have struggled. But landing Urban in Cbus would be epic. The recruiting would be off the charts, we'd have a POTENT offense, one we haven't seen since Troy Smith & Beanie and of course our defense.

Our offense is so bland right now, it looks like a middle school/freshman team. Same freaking plays run all game. How many times did we run that fake end around (same play BMiller fumbled)? I think it was around 5 times. Did any of them work? NO!!! So why do you keep running that play Bollman? Makes no sense.

I don't know where I read it on here, but let Miller go through 2 reads and if it's not there, take off. That's what our offense should be. Not Bauserman throwing the ball to the water boy just about every pass play. Not to mention all the ducks flying through the air on Saturday. It wasn't pretty. I'm not just blaming #14 (see last short paragraph) but my gosh, we have one of the biggest universities, at least put guys on the field who will make a play or give others (WR's) a chance to make a play

I think it'd be great to have a fresh start with a head coach who knows what he's doing. Bring in a few more coaches, pick up a O & D coordinators (if Fick doesn't want to stay) and go from there. But I think the struggles so far this year is part coaching staff and part inept ability to throw the ball somewhat decent/having the CORRECT QB playing full-time. Until then we're going to continue to see teams put 9 guys in the box and force Bauserman/Miller to beat us.

It's gonna be a tough year, but I still love being a Buckeye and wouldn't have it any other way!

I just woke up from my nap after the drive back from Miami. I have a few thoughts I'd like to share (probably others have shared similar thoughts- feel free to ignore me as usual :wink2:).

First- People in South Florida are terrible at driving cars, vans and pickups. They drive too slow and seem to really enjoy pulling out in front of people.

B- There is no difference between northern Florida and Southern Georgia (and I suspect both may be the equivalent of 3rd world countries). Also, crossing from Georgia into South Carolina, SC into NC, NC into Virginia and Virginia into WVA are non-events. As you drive from one into the other nothing changes. While driving through each state individually you notice gradual changes, but nothing happens at the border to clue you in other than a large sign. Crossing the Ohio River from WVA into Ohio is like night and day. I'll leave the rest of those comments for another thread.

Third- Hooters on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale is a good time, unless your waitress is Krista.

Fourth- Miami fans as a general rule were a good time. Talked with some real college football fans. Only would classify 6 of the thousands I ran into as classless, here's 5 of them:

We were able to get this picture because they stood like this for about 10 seconds. Why? Not sure...we had no interaction with these clowns the entire game. I offered them a snack, but they weren't intersting in eating a bag of dicks- surprising, I know- I assume they had their fill earlier in the evening.

I'm going to leave most of my game comments out, because I'm sure they've been posted previously and reliving this game is not something I'm super interested in.
2 things I will point out- I've never seen a Buckeye defense take such bad angles.
By all accounts Joe B. is a fine teammate and an even finer young man. What he isn't is a B1G quarterback. If I were coaching him I'd tell him to go throw an INT on his first attempt, just to prove to him that the world doesn't end.

Despite the 35 hours of driving and the monumentally bad play by the offense, I had a great time. I'm actually glad we didn't fly, it wouldn't have been as much fun.

You forgot the lack of turn signals used. That to me is the biggest annoyance of all. Just be glad it was not in season down here yet, otherwise you would have had to deal with all of the Q-tips that go 38mph in the middle lane of the turnpike.

35 hours of driving? Did you take the route through Chicago between here and Findlay? Wow. Takes me about 17-19 hours to Columbus from down here.

Unless you are talking total time for round trip.

A Buckeye Review, by a Michigan Fan

Unlike most big 10 fans, I watched the Miami game, and I was rooting for OSU... I wouldnot root for Miami is they were the playing the Taliban... I want OSU to win every game, except one....

Anyway, this is what I saw

OSU's defense if definetely top 10 in the country... Effective against the run and the pass, and they provided countless oppurtunities for the offense... Ya'll have nothing to worry about

On the offensive side of the ball, I was extremely impressed with #7 in the backfield, and OSU has probably the best offensive line in the country... At least the best in the Big 10

At QB, you all are in the hurt locker... That older kid (the minor league baseball pitcher with the great change up) is terrible... He throws an ugly flutting floating ball, he cannot read defense, and he can't run... He killed you

The young freshman kid, has not learned how to read a coverage (at least not yet), however, because he is extremly mobile, I think he is the best option... Hopefully he will learn how to read a coverage

Can;t say much about receivers, because neither QB could deliver the ball, but I am sure OSU has phenominal athletes at the other skilled positions, they alway do...

Coaching? I am undecided... OSU looks like a great team apart from QB, so it appears they are well coached... The coach cannot throw the ball for the offense...

If OSU had a good QB (even above average), they would be easily the best team in the BIG 10.. as it is, I think they will lose 1 or 2 Big 10 games this year, because defenses are going to put 8 or 9 guys in the box to stop the run, and force OSU to beat them throwing.. Thats what I would do if I was playing OSU

It was frustrating watching that Miami game, because 24-6 in not indicative of how close the game was.... as frustrating as watching MSU play ND.... ND is another frontrunner on my hate list

Anyway, that is what I thought, and OSU was playing a top 5 opponent on the road... anybody can lose game like that...
