Game Thread tOSU at Indiana, Saturday Oct. 17, Noon ET, FOX

The Defense won the game not sure how yet .....
It wasn’t magic like Curt suggests….

It’s really simple honestly.

We stopped their run cold with 5-6 in the box (a big fuck you to IUs OL IMO) and the DL got after the QB relentlessly.

If not for a bad INT by Sayin the defense nearly shuts out this team.

Factor in what happened last week?

This defense is legit man. Just don’t fuck it up on offense and we’ll win games

No edge pressure and the breakdowns in zone are frustrating, but this defense is actually very, very good. Not last year's D, but nothing will ever be like that.

The interior DL is becoming a serious strong point of this team.
They are always in the area but it annoys me to no end we seem to cover worse than a lot of D's cover our WR's So many 3rd and 5 pluses with no one even making the throw difficult.

It wasn't " fine" they were calling that game like IU was the old IU and they thought it was their Job to keep them in the game. 2nd Drive blantent PI against a wide open innis. Their interception in the firstr went through the back off JJ before the ball got there. Then Tackling JJ on the deep baal on.

Whatever the fuck they called on Hinzman. Called the same holding they ignoired on Hoovers scramble. But at least they called that on Indiana on the last drive I guess while ignoring another obvious one.

Add in the Terrible roughing while completely igniring a Grounding of the nature they had jush called on Fahey.. It was really bad
Yeah I guess those added into it as well but if you look at the numbers it wasn’t like they called OSU for 100 yards worth of penalties. My point being it wasn’t like embarrassingly bad but it wasn’t great either

Yup defense is not nearly as good as last year yet is still an elite defense this year. It's been frustrating at times but Matty P has done an incredible job given how young the defense is overall.

The non Pi's erased 100+ yards in offense though. Now in college it's only 45 yards of prenlaties. And their first 7 points were a direct result of not calling it.

Pumped for the Win today. This was a pickem game preseason / pregame. Ugly game but we got the W in a really physical game and against the defending champs. We checked off two out of the first three tests heading into the bye week. Our schedule is way more manageable than it once looked. Rooting hard for us to figure out how to manage a backup QB with some great weapons around him. Hopefully Austin and Jackson back in two weeks and D continues building week by week. I would love to absolutely beat the brakes off Michigan and win the B1G. Let’s see what happens after that. Would love to see Jeremiah get another ring but that’s a bit of a stretch based on what we know right now.

I’ll say this much… I love Julian. But I’d be shocked if he comes back and somehow wins a title here.

We really do need a 6’4 235 kind of guy like Will Howard.

IMO that’s more like St. Claire but I’m pretty concerned overall.

A QB with some size allows for a few things the smaller QBs just can’t do.

Just need someone who can deliver an accurate ball under pressure.
