I also don't think it's panic time.

For pretty much the whole second half, and especially the last couple of scoring drives, Illinois knew we were running and still couldn't stop it.

It reminded me a lot of the pounding we laid on teams for the last few games of last season.

As long as TP is fine, we'll be fine. It's good for the Oline's confidence when they line it up and are able to run it on 11 in the box

Good teams win when they don't play well.

Ow, low blow to the O-Line.... Fair though...

I don't read it as a low blow to the O-line. I read it as giving ZB credit for the mean-ass SOB that he is... Not sure if you've had a chance to go back to watch the last couple of times we had the ball, but w/o ZB in the game I'm not sure that we (a) keep the drives alive as long as we did, and (b) get Boom in the endzone. He's just a bad ass... end of story.

I honestly can't remember a FB that has been more important to a Buckeye team as ZB is.

Once again, thanks to the state of family values degrading at TSUN.

Chronologically as best as memory serves

-Stan White Jr gets at least a nod because its an excuse to mention the block he laid on Burgess and Crable in The Game 2005.

-What success there was in 2001 was due in large part to J Martin crushing souls in front of J Wells.

-Nicky Sualua should get his name somewhere on Eddie's Heisman.

-Vaughn Brodnax...see White, Stan Jr

-Pete Johnson = El Hombre

All the FB's previous to that were really not the same creature as what a FB is today (or used to be when the power I was in vogue).

Small in size compared to most of the ones you mentioned, but Matt Keller did a fine job in blocking, occasionally getting to run, and probably the best at catching the ball and doing something with it. But ain't no one up there matches Bob Ferguson and Bob White except Johnson. Had Johnson played in the earlier era he would have been the featured back and Archie would have been the decoy.

I rewatched the game last night on BTN. Our offensive line was getting blown up on run plays. Absolutely pushed back. There were times where Mike Brewster could have made the tackle on Boom, that's how far back he was getting pushed.
Our guys are obviously good, but we need to have more pride and fire next time we come out. run blocking. BB and Mike Adams looked like the only guys out there having some push on runs. I know Illinois has some players on that line and at LB but that kind of stuff shouldn't ever happen on a regular basis. I now know why Mike Brew was so outspoken about the O line's poor performance.

Like I said, I still think this is a good win. We got our first taste of adversity and I'm sure we learned a good deal, even though this offense is rather veteran. I'll take a win any day, and I'm sure this offense will see better days.

I believe their D-tackle had like 12 tackles in the game.

That's absolutely absurd.

edit- that's unofficial and what I remember from the BTN broadcast, which sucked, at one point late in the game.
