Game Thread tOSU at Illinois, Nov 16, 12 ET, ESPN

Agreed, the TE just doesn't show up much with the TH play calling. I also get the impression that TH has his mind made up on what he wants to do sometimes and he isn't coming off of it for anything.

We tried shorter, less than 10 yard, passes. Quite a few of them. Most were behind the receiver. Seeing as the pads on the TEs offer less flexibility than the pads on the receivers, I doubt we would have had any better luck. Miller just never got on his game throwing.

Which goes back to the previous point of adjusting to what is working, which was running the ball. A lot of those passes were to the outside as well, where you could bring some possession passes inside with the TE stopping and turning back to face the QB.

Yeah, adjusting is what should've happened in the 3rd Q. Gameplan was fine until they decided to keep throwing in a game in which Miller was going to be more effective rushing. I can't remember the last time an OSU QB threw the ball well at Illinois.

Stealing this post from the Scout board, but it hits the nail on the head.....if you're a member here as well, great post......

Don't know who is more ignorant, the ledge jumping posters here, the awful biased announcing or the pathetic intramural referees.

The "I don't care how many defensive starters are out" crowd needs to just stop posting get some perspective. On defense, you are only as strong as your weakest links, and we saw plenty of that early in the year. There were plenty of weak links on display today, most without the talent to perform yet. Without injuries, some don't sniff the field.

Also, Illinois benefitted from some lucky plays by a senior quarterback, playing at home with the benefit of his offensive line literally tackling our players in the backfield. 6 sacks under those conditions is pretty damn good.

As depleted and uninspired as our defense was, Illinois, ranks 26th in passing at 288ypg. They had exactly their average today.

Yes, Miller was bad throwing the ball today. It happens. Especially when the conditions aren't favorable. But what does it say about him that he still accounted for 388 total yards? ON A BAD DAY.

Despite Gresies' obvious biased rants, and some of the message board genius displayed here today, Stanford will not jump us. Neither will Baylor. Not unless we lose.

And before any of you try to use the "we're were only up by 12 in the 4th quarter" as an indictment, then none of you can point to last year's Indiana game, where they scored a ton of late points as evidence of anything negative. You can't have it both ways. The partial game analyses are myopic and designed to support an agenda. Last time I checked the entire game counts.

In the end, whether we won 60-35 or 75-3, we were NEVER going to move up in the polls or close the gap.

Some of you just need to step away from the ledge and let the chips fall where they may, since there is absolutely nothing we can do to change our situation.
