Interesting that ESPN Stats & Info posted on the ESPN recap that no one other than Purdue (22) has more B1G titles than IU.

I count 22 for OSU, I don't think it's right for the media to completely disregard vacated championships. Schools vacate, and OSU can't claim two of them, but that doesn't change what actually happened. OSU has more Big Ten titles than Indiana.

Research Notes
The Hoosiers have won 20 Big Ten titles (10 outright, 10 shared). Only Purdue has won more (22). That's not even including this season. And IU can still win the Big Ten title outright with a win at Michigan on Sunday.

I'm pretty sure the Hoosier fanbase would take Thad, no? There may be bad blood now bc they feel Thad snubbed them, but they wouldve dont anything to get him before the took the OSU job.

Maybe then, sure; however, those were before my days in south-central Indiana. Now, Thad is the rude dude with a bad 'tude in their eyes. I often hear "bald scumbag." (it's assumed a couple big recruiting classes, you're a piece of shit) Moreover, it's hard to talk about OSU athletics with my academic peers because the tattoo incident somehow always trickles into the discussion.

You could be discussing fucking big ten tennis, and I promise football is somehow brought up. This is why I decided to stop lurking here and 'join in' although my first post was a big whiff.

Schools can't count them. Of course they're not going to hang a banner for a vacated Final Four. But the Media can't rewrite history, either. ESPN saying nobody has more Big Ten titles than Indiana except Purdue is inaccurate. If you want to clarify that OSU had 2 vacated, fine, but don't just say IU has had more when they haven't.

Of course, I think the "vacate" sanction is stupid - especially as it applies to the media. Whatever happened, happened. You want to put an asterisk by it or outright mention there were vacated titles, fine, but if you're in the media you don't completely ignore what happened like ESPN did in their "Stats and Information" blurb. Their stat in this case was historically inaccurate. Schools can't claim vacated titles, but there is only one reality of what actually has happened, and media completely discounting seasons that were vacated is wrong. Some of you must think Cam Newton's family didn't get paid a dime to have him play for Auburn.

Apparetly you miss the meaning of "vacated". Ohio State no longer has 22 titles...whether they "had" them or not is no longer valid.

I don't believe in editing history. Sometimes schools vacate things, but that doesn't change what teams won the games/titles. I don't think the media should completely ignore what happened - go ahead and asterisk it or qualify it, fine, but don't ignore it. I guess we will just agree to disagree about this issue.
