tOSU +8.5 at Indiana (ov/un 141.5) Tue 9 EPSN

This game is the measuring stick ..'who is this tOSU team?' pretender or contender. We don't have to win but we need to fight for 40 minutes, This team has problems on O, but should be capable of a great defensive effort. If we show some heart and fight I will be encouraged, if we implode and lose composure the season is basically over,

At this point in the year I don't think there is any pretending or contending to it. This team is what it is, the limitations are well documented and there is no shame in being "merely very good" imo.

I think IU is simply a better team on top of being a bad match up for us. Anything can happen in a CBB game but if these two teams played 10 times I expect IU to win 8.

I take solace, as it were, from knowing that in a tournament format, OSU is a very dangerous team.

I do think to some extent IU is a bad matchup for OSU. DT has not been good at getting out on 3-point shooters and chasing them off the line, and Watford shoots 50% on 3s and that was a big factor in IU beating OSU earlier. Even if Matta tried to sub for DT, he'd be putting in Ross who's also had problems getting out on 3-point shooters. DT and Ross seem too reluctant to get beaten off the dribble that they just give up the 3, which is bad against IU. Plus the big men need to find some pride and make Zeller uncomfortable and not be able to get whatever shot he wants. Way too soft in defending Zeller last time. You've got to force him outside the paint and make it tough for him to shoot over you - they didn't do either of those things consistently in the earlier meeting.

Indiana might be the worst matchup in the country for our Buckeyes. We have no one inside to deal with Zeller consistently and they have Oladipo to drive and dish or get out and score. Teams that can go inside out on us are a terrible matchup unfortunately.

DT will have to be on but Craft will have to be at his absolute best to try and win this game.

IU is #1 in the country in adjusted efficiency on offense, and it's clear they have a good blend of skills. Zeller is the inside guy, Oladipo gets the putbacks and hustle baskets creating offense off of defense, Watford and Hulls help spread the floor and Ferrell sets them all up. Other than Hulls they all have some offensive skills inside the arc. I'd say the only thing really separating IU from a typical NC type team is Zeller is susceptible to getting bullied inside (but OSU's bigs don't play the role of bully well), they don't have much interior depth, and Hulls is far from the prototypical SG but that is where he regularly plays on this team.

Yeah that video strategy is all well and good on Zeller, but the refs lighting you up for fouls like a christmas tree in Bloomington is too big a factor to do that.

At least one of our guys fouls out tomorrow without a doubt. Have to play excellent offensive basketball for sure.

Well DT is due for a good game here real soon it may as well be tonight. Our guys played better defense on Mich State's bigs last game so hopefully it will carry over a little. We have had since Thursday to prepare and Indiana is not coming off a loss at least. Go Bucks!
