tOSU 70, at Purdue 66 (Jan 12, 2010, 7 ET, ESPN)

Kramer is one of the best defenders in the country. Pretty sure he'll be matched up on Turner (?). Their whole team defense is one of the best I've seen. They get into you and really have a great concept of help defense. This is my biggest worry. I just don't see where Ohio State (who already tends to struggle with scoring) will get their offense from. Turner has the problem of turning his back a lot on the offensive end and then trying to spin back...Minnesota adjusted well with their man/trapping press and I expect Purdue to be all over that as well. He's going to need to face the basket more and be able to see where the double team is coming from.

I really like this Purdue team. They seem to have a complete game. Great big man that can hurt you from inside and out. Solid point guard play (though, injured PG Lewis Jackson would help this even more!). Moore is a great wing player. And then Hummel can do a bit of everything. Barlow (freshman PG) has been a surprise.

Overall, color me pessimistic. I think Purdue covers this, but I'll be rooting them on nonetheless! It would be a pretty darn good upset. :wink2:

Sequence of events
1. Buford mishandles
2. Easy Purdue Basket
3. David Lighty forced shot
4. No one gets back easy Purdue basket

Thank God for Evan Turner

I was on dinner duty and only periodically checking. I came in and saw OSU had cut it to 6, saw this sequence of events and cursed loudly before returning to the kitchen.

Come back 15 minutes later and OSU is up 2 shooting free throws with 18 seconds left. Thank god for DVR and being able to rewind it. :groove:

ET was unbelievable. I'm still a bit in shock right now.

[sarcasm]Purdue gave it away![/sarcasm]

Hope Diebler can keep working to get his shot off throughout the season (2-of-4). Great to see Turner take the game over in the stretch.

That missed free throw on the one-and-one by Purdue was huge (at the time). Hummel's finger looked painful.

How can a kid score 29 points in one half and NOT be the player of the game? Not even close.

Savior this kid. Don't miss a game.

Even for dinner duty.

I enjoy watching Evan Turner, but let's not turn him into Tebow. :tongue2:

I wonder what the young woman in the stands, with the 'JUST LIKE FOOTBALL' sign, thinks now? That the Buckeyes are winning the Big Ten title? :wink2:

She's probably thinking about how she could have sworn she felt some old perv ogling her through the TV camera at the game and doesn't want to think about him having a DVR.
