Singleton gets away with a [censored] ton of raking arms on every rebound he misses. The announcers were all over his nuts the entire game what? 8pts 7reb ok

Sullinger had 11/13 I believe.....despite being hacked and raped all game long

We shot like crap but played very good defense once again. FSU will win alot of games this year with that defense. They cant score though so that will keep them from 20 probably.

Not perfect. A win like a lot of people have already said though. I'll take it. I reserve the right to [censored] and moan at a later date though. :tongue2:

No problem Grumpy.

A middle of the week win after a long plane flight works for me.

1. Very well-officiated game IMO.

2. FSU's team defense is outstanding. They can't, however, hit the ocean from the beach. They remind me of Michigan State teams of a few years back, except they don't rebound as well.

3. Aaron Craft came back to earth. FSU's relentless pressure forced him into a few mental errors. Good lessons that I'm certain he will learn from.

4. It's great to win ugly like this - proves we can.

Definitely deserving of our #2 ranking. A heck of a team.

Champions win the ugly games as well buckeyes.

Exactly.

It wasn't pretty but despite all of the griping we won a road game by 14 where we were only favored by 4.5. Ultimately, it's the result that counts.

Plenty of things for Thad to coach on from it, too. Great time of year for a reason to get the team's attention teach the frosh.

Ok?? What did you think about the two non calls on the goaltends? Just curious.
Honestly, I didn't see anything that I thought was goaltending that wasn't called. A couple of times FSU hit the backboard and something could have been called, but the actions didn't affect the shot outcome and I thought they were good no-calls.

1. No it wasn't and it wasn't even close. Singleton repeatedly ranked arms after not getting a rebound then would try for a steal and more often then not missed and ended up banging with the body. Then Sullinger on the other end yes he tried to force up shots in bad situations but half of his shots that were blocked there was far more arm blocked then ball blocked. 2 obvious goal tends not called especially bad the guy hanging on the rim while the ball was in the air.

2. They are a good defensive team though especially in help defense and being feisty and physical if they can get away with it.

3. Yeah he forced a few passes and had his pocket picket 2 or 3 times.

4. yes though I do wonder about Thomas the only thing I think is they were holding him out cause the trainer said to.

Well, we will agree to disagree here. I was very impressed with Singleton, and I thought his D on Sullinger was superb. Sully sure proved he can rebound against very stout and athletic opposition, though.

Despite what people have been told, basketball IS a contact sport. Go to a high level AAU tournament. I recommend the King James Classic if you're in Ohio. You'll be amazed at how physical the game is and what is allowed.

Player improvement.

Jared Sullinger. I love his game. What I'd like to see him develop is a little DeJuan Blair to his game.

Blair was a master at Pitt at getting his body into the chest of bigger defenders when he was at Pitt. It negated the shot block and created a lot of foul trouble for opposing defenders.

Sullinger isn't the most athletic big man and he's now going up against stronger and more athletic defenders. I hate to see his go to move become the baby hooks.
